Now, without researching it (which is dangerous), I’m pretty confident in saying there were not many Jewish slave/plantation owners in the South. Whatever number there was was miniscule at best. I’d say most were of English/Irish/Scottish descent. I call BS on that theory.

You are absolutely right. There were some Jews in the pre-Civil War South, but not very many, and most were in cities like Charleston, SC and New Orleans, and had urban-connected professions and occupations. Only a very few were large landowners.
