When President Obama issues executive orders on immigration, House Republicans will be waiting with repercussions.
They're readying for a fight as Obama crafts administrative action that couldreportedly defer the deportationof as many as 5 million undocumented immigrants. This would likely count as the "big and bold" move Democrats are urging Obama to take, but many Republicans view this as an overreach of presidential power. It's an action that should have consequences, they say.
All options are on the table as House Republicans prepare to fight the president "tooth and nail," House Speaker John Boehner said in a press conference Thursday.
"Here's the time to get creative," Rep. Matt Salmon of Arizona said, "and I think that's what the speaker said when he said we're looking at all options right now."
But what exactly does "creative" mean—and how far will it extend?
If Obama announces his executive order next Friday at noon, the House could stay in session for as long as needed rather than beginning the planned Thanksgiving recess. The chamber could pass a resolution rejecting the president's actions. Then House Republicans would focus on appropriations.
The current funding bill is set to sunset Dec. 11, and lawmakers are jockeying over passing another short-term continuing resolution or a longer-term package. The House could attach a rider prohibiting enforcement of Obama's order, or it could not provide money to departments that would respond to executive action.
This strategy aligns with a letter that Salmon, along with at least 62 cosigners, sent House Appropriations Chairman Harold Rogers and ranking member Nita Lowey. It urges them to insert language into any spending bill prohibiting the use of appropriated money for executive action that would create additional work permits or green cards. Essentially, Congress's power of the purse would be Obama's punishment.

And to the GOP, mean it and don't if needed. The GOP wimps out all the time, so everyone runs over them, because they don't matter. If you want to make a difference GOP, it's simple, make promises and keep them. You'll find that people will have a new respect for you and take your views into consideration.
Otherwise you'll stay a doormat. If you're a doormat, it doesn't matter how big your (unearned) majority is, you'll still be a doormat. That's obviously the lesson Obama has learned about the House GOP over the past 4 years, as witnessed by his victory press conference after the election. He won, you didn't. It's up to you GOP to change that. No one else can.

Pass only a short term CR through January, then defund it in the new 114th Congress!
The solution is simple. Congress controls the purse. Shut down the government until Obama gives up amnesty and approves a border fence. Once that is done, draft articles of impeachment, prepare a Senate trial, and reserve a cell in Leavenworth!
Request patriotic Americans to report all suspected illegal workers to ICE, local police, local unions, local newspapers and TV stations.

Not sure if that’ll do any good.
Arizona tried to do it and other states like California threatens to boycott her.
Here in NYC, local police know who the illegals are and where to find them but tell us that it’s not their job to round out illegals. They only take action when they break the law (not immigration laws mind you).

The only thing I can think of is impeachment. Which is a lengthy and ultimately futile process.
Obama is trying to trigger the Cloward Piven Helter Skelter by timing the immigration order at the same time as the Ferguson riots.
Just keep posting that accusation until it sinks in.

the states may have to step up to the plate, I’m not sure the bobbsey twins Boehner and McConnell will do anything.
History has terrible lessons in store for those who ignore it. My quest for comprehension began decades ago when I wondered why so many willingly submitted to the execution pits and abbatoirs of the Nazis and communists.
The will to power always requires its corollary: its victims will to submit. Both sides share the same refusal to acknowledge reality.
The lesson is that there is only one way to stop these will to power driven psychopaths. Only one way.
Here is my strategy. Republicans need to get together this week and come up with a bold plan for immigration reform. Make a huge deal out of it, so it takes executive amnesty out of Obamas hands.
The “gang of 14” bipartisan bill is the key here. Take the bill back and break out every amendment to the bill into its own bill. Each bill has to be less than 10 pages, easy to understand and posted to the House/Snate web site for people to read.
Bill one. Close the border. Until the bill is signed, funded, executed and completed, there is no bill 2. Force every Democrat to take a position. And there are no amendments. Every democrat that votes against cloture will be labeled the vote that killed cloture and campaign ads against that dem will start immediately.
Get the bill on Obamas desk. You want immigration reform and are serious about it, then closing the border is the logical first step. Bill 2 is creating the database that will be needed to track everyone. Keep everything logical and in order. Remember us “stupid Americans” want everything simple.
A veto to any bill becomes a campaign ad. Plus by simplifying everything, you take the MSM lying out of the equation.
