New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is maneuvering to run for president in 2016 and will use his progressive credentials to derail former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s expected bid for the White House, according to a prediction from the chairman of the Republican Party in New York. Ed Cox, the New York state GOP chairman, also said de Blasio’s plan will be successful, according to the New York Post.

“It’s like Barack Obama; he was a brand-new freshman senator, and he ran for president and won. I think de Blasio is going to do it,” Cox said at a recent meeting, according to a source who spoke to the Post. The New York GOP chairman said a “Democratic lobbyist” told him that de Blasio’s posturing as a progressive leader is part of his plan to run for president in 2016.

The mayor’s close ties to the Rev. Al Sharpton, the national civil rights leader and political activist who is connected to the Obama White House, was one of the reasons Cox listed for a de Blasio presidential campaign in 2016.

Great character reference.

Run, Bill, Run..

Blasio is insane. He eats pizza with a fork.

Hillary speaks with a forked tongue.

De Blasio is a long time Clinton crony and friend. Him running against Hillary would be a betrayal of the highest magnitude. And we know how well the Clintons handle betrayal.

The NY GOP Chair must have Stockholm Syndrome.

I could see De Blasio run for President. Would he win? No.

Scary guy. Right now, I’d say he’d have no chance, but two years from now...who knows?

He’ll have to break his habit of oversleeping first.

Out of the Frying Pan and into The Fire. The Dems might just fall for it if Her Royal Highness stumbles.

Believe me if Comrade de Blasio runs he will be a very big help to us. The man is an insane Communist megalomaniac who will put a nail in their coffin!

Face it kiddies, anyone who runs on the Democrat/Marxist ticket will be just that...a dyed in the wool Marxist. The Democrat Party is no longer the old Democrat Party, it is the Marxist Party. It believes, advocates and follows Marxist doctrine from start to finish.

Maybe he’d do it to make Hillary look moderate.

Alec Baldwin supported him and urged everyone to vote for him.

Then after De Blasio got the job and Baldwin ended up in all that nonsense in the papers De Blasio said Baldwin should be fired.

Just think, after 4 years of Blasio, Hillary would be 72, and would be "deep-furrowed" wrinkly.

Thats a good point. There was a belief that Wesley Clark ran in 2008 as prep to be Hillary’s VP pick, and to take shots at the other contenders.

JFK Jr. was going to run, and probably beat, Hillary for a NY Senate seat at one time.

Let’s just say JFK Jr. didn’t die of natural causes.

To continue, the Clintons are long term strategic thinkers and planners with a track record of learning from their mistakes and readjusting.

Hillary’s biggest threat in 2008 turned out to be an upstart Progressive who she underestimated. In 2016 it could be another upstart Progressive (Liz Warren). She won’t make the mistake of underestimating a threat from her Left again.

So De Blasio runs to siphon off votes from Warren. With a split Progressive movement Hillary walks to the nomination with a plurality, just like Romney did in 2012.

Yup, I think thats it. Again, good point.
