David Cameron: Putin is not a man of his word

David Cameron has warned Russia it will face more sanctions if it continues to support the separatists in Ukraine's civil war.

Speaking on Radio 4's Today programme, Mr Cameron said: "If Russia continues to destabilise Ukraine, and we continue to see Russian troops and Russian tanks inside Ukraine, then there's going to have to be a very different relationship with Britain and Europe on the one hand, and Russia on the other, and potential for further sanctions."

Mr Cameron also suggested in a separate interview that he does not trust Vladimir Putin, and said he was saddened that Mr Putin had failed to fulfill a promise to respect a ceasefire in Ukraine.

Speaking to ITV News, he said that the best approach was to "continue to engage" but added that Russia will face further sanctions if it continued to support rebels in Ukraine.

Asked if he trusts Mr Putin, the Prime Minister said: "I take people as I find them. The sad thing is that to date undertakings given in the Minsk agreement have not been followed but the right thing to do is to continue to engage.

"So far we haven't seen his actions follow up the statements that he's given on previous occasions.

"The point is and the reason for meeting is that this issue matters and it's very important Russia understands what's at stake and gets a very clear message.

"There's a real choice here, there's a different and better way for Russia to behave that could lead to an easing of relations, but at the moment he's not taking that path.''

He said that sanctions are having an impact and showing that Russia's actions in Ukraine are not in its best interests.

Obama cannot bring the United Sates to ruin. The USA remains the greatest nation in the world despite Obama. Have you seen the price of gasoline lately? Obama tried to bring America to our knees but he failed. Freedom and Capitalism has defeated Obama. Evil tyrants like Obama and Putin are being swept into the ash-heap of history where they belong.

Yes he is. He couldn’t take down America in six years and now he’s been rendered an impotent lame duck by the Constitution and the Founders. Russia has no such good fortune. Soon Obama will be a bad memory, but the mass-murdering terrorist dictator for life Putin will still be America’s most evil and deadliest enemy in the world.

Well now! Since there is no in British heirarchy that really remembers The Cold War, isn’t this such a wakeup call!

Russia will do what is profitable in the eyes of Russia, who has always held Europe in contempt, since the days when Europe began meddling with Russian politics. While Europe was having all it’s silly bastard family wars, Russia was a solid unit, and growing.

Now, since the change from Communism, to chaos, to the Russian commonwealth, to Russia, and being led by the man who lost his job, (Head of the KGB), due to the end of Communism, would you not think that the man has a bit of a ‘chip’ on his shoulder???? Has he not been quoted that he intends to return Russia to ‘the old ways’?

I think Mr. Cameron has the mind bent of Obama, when Mr. Putin has been doing what he has intended all along.

Once again, a British politician playing checkers on a Russian-provided chessboard, with the appropriate pieces.

Putin is following Russian military doctrine which was established before anyone on this site was born.

Not hard to tell what he will do. Since he doesn’t want to be forcibly removed from power, he will do whatever it takes to secure Crimea.

No limits.

Putin already occupied Crimea. Russian control of Crimea was never under any threat. Putin's action have not achieved any military goal at all. His theatrics have achieved nothing except the isolation and economic downfall and impoverishment of his nation.

Quite frankly, I don’t care if Putin gets criticized. He has no meaning to me.

I just read those words and Obama came to mind. Two sides of the coin exactly alike, well except that Obam is the pervert side and Putin is the macho side.
