Protesters in Missouri are reportedly planning to shut down Clayton following a grand jury decision on whether a suburban St. Louis officer who shot unarmed teen Michael Brown should face charges.
The protesters want to financially hurt Clayton, a city of roughly 15,000 residents that borders St. Louis, where organizers met late Thursday to hopefully attract hundreds if not thousands of people to show up on the first workday after the grand jury reaches a decision, KTVI reports.
The protesters will meet in public spaces and may spread out in small groups, possibly to take part in civil disobedience like shutting down roads.
We want people to know these meeting are about non-violence direct action, said Michael McPherson, co-chair of the Dont Shoot Coalition. Some of it will be people talking to people, expressing themselves. Theres nothing were doing to try to create violence. We dont want to diminish tension without there being change.(continued)

Looks like the original plan was to disrupt ongoing trials at the courthouse but that carries a steeper criminal sentence than disrupting traffic. My question is if the traffic is being disrupted to bring the County seat to a standstill in order to disrupt trials, shouldn’t the steeper sentence be in play?
That's giving a little too much power to the thugs in Ferguson and not to mention strangling the economy.
In a sense, it would be starving the beast. If the number of prime looting sites dissipates in the area around Ferguson, the effect of any large scale rioting will be limited.
If they decide they want to move on St. Louis, shoot them.
The stores are stocked for Christmas.
Sheeet!
Can't have no riot without a FF pit to tear up.
This is a media report of the Detroit beating of motorist Steve Utash. Everyone in that area needs to print it out and put it in their glove compartment for any police report files after defending yourself.

It's the county seat of St. Louis County and has about half a dozen corporate headquarters in it. Good for headlines.
Wash U is in Clayton? If activist faculty or students are spearheading this, that might explain why Clayton was targeted.
Shotguns ready.
Bring it on...
Clayton is the government center for St. Louis County. It is where the grand jury is convened and where they will announce their decision.
Thugs finally figured out they can use cars, and their enemy tribe is just a short drive up the freeway.
I'll take "nicer stuff" for $500, Judy!
Al is the white House-MSNBC liaison.
The new Kent State, maybe.
Clayton is the County seat, so the purpose of shutting down the County seat would be to shut down the government, which ironically enough, is the same the the Republicans get yelled at for...
“Im so sick of this crap.”
-=
Me too-— but there may be one good thing about it.
My ultra lib daughter is also getting sick of this.
Maybe we’ll get some converts. :-)
.
This is the deliberate and announced targeting of a white community, it is time for the feds to move in.
It is there. The Galleria is near there too. Lots of shopping areas, all kinds of commerce. I’m guessing they want to loot some of those places, since they’ve already destroyed Ferguson.
BWAHAHahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!
"I'll get right on that ..."
Let’s call it what it really is, “Terrorism.”
