By now we're familiar with some of the scarier potential impacts of climate change: Floods, fires, stronger hurricanes, violent conflicts. Well, here's a new one to add to your nightmares. Lightning strikes in the continental United States will increase roughly 12 percent for every degree Celsius of global warming, a study published today in Science finds. If warming continues unchecked, that could translate into a 50 percent increase in lightning by the end of the centurythree strikes then for every two strikes now. (On average, there are currently about 25 million strikes per year.)

How bout over in China, Russia, Cuba and N. Korea?
“Cubans and N. Koreans hardest hit”
January weather in early November, fiddlesticks, even parts of the Southwest got extremely (12 degrees) cold.
Sometimes you gotta dig through some tripe to remind yourself/ourselves just how insane these people really are. Snap, crackle, pop=ozone
All the Global Warming fear junk has not proven to be right—Al Gore said the ice would be gone from the north Pole by now. They still have ice—so its bunk or at least over hyped. Lets wait and see if their is anything to theire “predictions”.
Somebody has to count lightening strikes, if not government, then who?
In addition to MJ, the Weather Channel and their lackeys at WeatherUnderground are pushing this garbage as well...
I need a new weather service. Anyone have any suggestions?
Wow amazing what climate change can cause. Lightning, rising oceans, bitter people, decline of redheads. Is there no end?
Libs always warn us about the end of the world caused by climate change, of the intention of conservatives to re-instate racial segregation, that conservatives will abolish all bank regulations, that conservatives will abolish all environmental laws, that conservatives will abolish social security, yet they accuse conservatives of playing “the politics of fear.”
Eventually we will learn to use that power.
Here's my entry: Soon autocorrect functions won't work, thanksd to global warming.
Oh hell, it's alreedy started.
How is the hurricane frequency these days?
;-)
***a 50 percent increase in lightning by the end of the century***
OMG WE ALL GONNA DIE 86 years from now.
How many holes can the Albert Hall hold?
Right now, I could use some global warming. 23 degrees in Chattanooga this morning. Fired up the old V-8 and sprayed some hair spray at the sky to kill some penguins and polar bears!
Lightning usually means rain, so it sounds like the California drought is about to be over.

Top ten years for storms, hurricanes, etc.
http://www.wunderground.com/hurricane/top10.asp
Notice that the last decade had more storms than others, but that is because the storms never became hurricanes. Other decades had more hurricanes, especially BAD ones.
So, if you normally get 10 storms and 10 hurricanes, but now you just get 20 storms, you get twice as many storms. But that is a good thing! ;-)
