In plan to cut deportations, Obama makes the right move
The Boston Globe ^ | November 14, 2014 | Editorial

Asserting the full power of his office, President Obama is expected to announce a set of reforms to the country’s immigration enforcement system, a plan that would offer a temporary reprieve from deportation to up to 5 million undocumented immigrants. By taking action through an executive order, the president signals to a fractious Congress, where immigration legislation has been stalled for years, that humanitarian concerns must, in the end, be weighed against the costs of inaction.

The political fallout on immigration will be volatile. But the human cost of inaction — the families upended, the lives disrupted — is much greater.

5 million illegal aliens is more than the combined population of Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, and Vermont.

Every time you hear about water shortages... think of these millions of illegals drinking our limited water.

All this happened because they entered the country illegally, not because we have laws regulating that entry. They are always able to "come out of the shadows" and return home.

America cannot absorb most of the rest of Mexico. Something has to stop it or America will destroy itself. It cannot survive.

Texas should direct all illegals to MA, where they will be welcome to sign up for all the benefits they need.

Wow! I guess those “humans” really didn’t give a rat’s butt about the humanitarian crisis it would cause/cost to the hosts. They are only parasites. Was it something like 42% to sign up for Medicaid were ILLEGALS that we are paying for. I hope all those welfare getters who voted for obamination soon realize that it is THEY who will suffer as docs jump out of caring for them.

What about the other tens of millions?

With the media and the elites all rallying and celebrating Obama’s “lawlessness,” I trust they will be equally fine when citizens out in mid-America get so fed up that they resort to their own “lawless” vigilante actions to deal with illegals in their midst.

Obama is waking a sleeping giant. The American people, regardless of party, do not want this. Some comments from the sourced article [keep in mind this is the Globe, Boston's wannabe NYT]:

I voted for this president twice, but shame on him. I'm finished with my pro-Obama sentiments. He is in cahoots with big business that wants to keep working class wages low, and they need a constant influx of desperate people from Central America who will accept low pay, and force Americans to do the same, or be unemployed.

I've been voting for democrats all my life. Now, heck with them. They can become a party of illegals. Adios.
Yes - just what in the President's proposal will keep future waves of illegal immigrants from spilling over the boarder? He claims that he will " re - focus " ICE to the southern boarder - well - why are they, apparently, so poorly deployed now?
The liar in chief is at it again! The proper way to do this would be to: Secure the border along Mexico properly. Give all illegals residency with NO path to citizenship and never the right to vote. That is the price to pay for being here illegally. There should also be a way to ensure they all don't go n the dole forever.
No more if your are born here it guarantees citizenship.myour parents come here illegally then you are also illegal.
Illegals should be DETAINED and DEPORTED

Those that provide aid and comfort to ILLEGALS should be arrested for TREASON.
And the next 7 million illegals that swarm the U.S.?
...if a thief steals your car, should their children get to keep it if its the only car they have ever known?

Children should not be able to benefit from illegal activity of their parents. Unless they are future democratic voters...
No befits for illegal alien lawbreakers or their children. Children should not be able to benefit from the illegal activity of their parents.
Once again, the president is spitting in the face of his country, and acting against the will of the people.

The division of legislative and executive powers is not just the backbone of America’s Constitution it is the backbone of EVERY ‘western’ government.
Supporters of a president violating that principle are crazy. Just crazy.

Call your representatives. You will find numbers here for both the DC and local offices.

Make your voice heard.

An EO on amnesty is unlawful, illegal and unconstitutional.

IF the President violates his oath of office, tell your reps that you expect them to uphold theirs.

For the House, that means to impeach.

For the Senate that means to convict and remove.

We have a President, not an Emperor, and quite frankly, this one is naked.

The California prison system is filled with innocent tomato pickers who were simply "yearning to be free"!

Demon'rat "human rights"(so long as they vote demon'rat) = ..."let them into YOUR(not my)home and take what they(want)need...or you(not me)are a bigot/racist!"

(...hard to believe people still fall for that drek, but thanks to hypocrite academia/media spin, they do)

HUMAN COST OF INACTION!

That is the issue, indeed. Try securing the border and enforcing the law for once.

Actually the report said 42% of new sign ups were immigrants. That number makes the case against legal and illegal immigration. They come legally and sign up. They come illegally and then sign up all their American born children.
The number damns our whole immigration system. If they qualify for Medicaid and other programs we are importing poverty by huge numbers...period. Legal and illegal.

*****

Professor Gruber of recent ObamaCare fame: I hear that President Obama consulted just about everyday with MIT Professor Gruber to find out how good his immigration plan was.

Gruber told the President that it was a great idea and that the citizens of the United states can only benefit from such an historical, great executive order.

"Besides", Gruber told the President,"the American voter is too 'stupid' to understand the executive order anyway. Just tell the stupid, blind voter 'It was the right thing to do', and the American voter will simply go quietly into the good night without a single complaint, because they the voters love and trust you so much."

"Go for it, because you will go down in history as one the greatest presidents in United States history" Gruber told President Obama.

Hey Boston Globe, Congress is tasked with things like this because it’s members are representatives of the people. They go home to their districts and listen.

This hasn’t moved through Congress because it wasn’t a popular plan. The people of the United States didn’t want it passed.

The President was not given this power. Obama’s possible actions and your praise for him doing it, are precisely why.

And the five million figure is possible only 50% of the actual number, perhaps even less.
