As our friend Daniel Horowitz of Conservative Review said, "Its as if the November 4 elections never occurred."
Today, the new House membership met in a private conclave and reelected every one of their top leaders by voice vote. This includes John Boehner (R-OH) as Speaker, Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as Majority Leader, Steve Scalise (R-LA) as Majority Whip, and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) as Conference Chair.
And as Horowitz observed, "At a time of one of the worst constitutional crises in our nations history, when the president is threatening to imminently remake our society with immigration amnesty a policy over which Congress holds absolute power Republican leadership elections lacked any debate on strategy to stop this crisis. None of these people had to provide a platform or a commitment as to how they will deal with this dangerously imperial president. None of them had to make commitments to defund any and all lawless activity. They were all reelected by voice vote."
Just hours before winning reelection to his speakership, Breitbart reported that Boehner said the following to Obama about paying his ransom on immigration:
After a White House meeting last week, Republicans described Speaker John Boehner aggressively confronting President Obama over the president's planned executive amnesty, prompting an extended period of a defensive Obama attempting to justify his actions. But a key moment of the meeting, left out from those accounts, was unveiled by Boehner himself, when according to Horowitz, in an exuberant moment of boasting in a closed-door meeting with GOP colleagues minutes ago. Boehner recalled telling Obama, Mr. President, just give us one more chance to do this the right way. If we can't, then do what you gotta do.
So Boehner is telling Obama that he will have the green light to pass amnesty, but asked for permission to try one more time to pass it legislatively? Horowitz had this quote mentioned by Breitbart confirmed by several people in the room when Boehner said it.
Read that again. Boehner told the GOP conference behind closed doors that he told Obama he has the green light to shred our constitution and destroy our sovereignty if Republicans dont do it through regular order. And then he was reelected Speaker just hours later!
This fight is not over, not by a long shot. Game on. Conservatives will be watching.

Call or write your legislator today (the Capitol switchboard is 1-866-220-0044) tell Capitol Hill Republicans that you voted for them to stand tall and fight the Obama Reid plan to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens and that you future support of the Republican Party will stand or fall on their opposition to granting amnesty to illegal aliens..
“How do We the People have this corrupt man removed as Speaker of OUR House of Representatives?”
Tell your Representative not to vote for him IN JANUARY WHEN THE VOTE IS HELD.
If he doesn’t do everything he can to stop this amnesty he won’t win the Speakership WHEN THE ELECTION IS HELD IN JANUARY.
Excuse the caps, it’s an important point.
“So Boehner is telling Obama that he will have the green light to pass amnesty, but asked for permission to try one more time to pass it legislatively?”
So...WHorawitz creates a strawman and busies himself with tearing it down?
I cannot believe there are Members of the House that aren’t screaming from the rooftops to remove this quisling limp wristed Speaker Bonehead.
What a Country
Someone remind me again why it so imperative to vote Republican on NOV 4.
MESSAGE: tell Congress that your midterm vote was specific---a demand that they fight tooth and nail---using both tooth and nail----to demolish the Obama/Reid amnesty plan to force American taxpayers to subsidize the expansion of the Democrat party w/ foreign voters.
AMERICANS HAVE BEEN VERY PATIENT: Americans demand the Republican leadership tell Obama: "If the president unilaterally moves to augment the power of the Executive Branch in an unprecedented and unconstitutional manner via E/O'ing amnesty, then the Legislative Branch will need to increase its powers in order to maintain the balance of powers called for in the US Constitution.
The Senate can do this in an unprecedented but completely constitutional manner, by providing that the filibuster rule is suspended completely until such time as the president withdraws his executive aggrandizement.
RATIONALE--Obama's temporary amnesty E/O requires temporary suspension of the rule. That should also include Congress passing laws without the president signing the bill.
If it is okay for the president to overreach, then it is okay for Congress to overreach. Obama forgets that the Congress---and Americans---can also say, We have been patient.
Who expected anything else?
I don’t understand your comment. Can you explain?
“Do what you gotta do” is not a phrase used when one agrees with the person.
Boner didn’t say what the article’s author is saying. It is a classic strawman.
Since no Boner policy on the issue is listed, the author created his own and ascribed it to Boner.
Any bill on immigration reform bill that made it out of the House would look nothing like amnesty.
The District of Corruption must be destroyed.
Bohner is an old drunk — really. Drinks and smokes all day.
Maybe if we tell em we want to ABORT Obamacare that’ll get their cooperation?

The America people think that voting “conservative” in one election cycle is all they ever need to do. No follow-up needed, they falsely think. They will go Democrat in 2016, just wait and see. And it is as if this 2014 election never happened.
There is just no support for follow-up from November 4 from the people nominated by the Republican primary voters.
People in OH believe in “compromise” and “getting things done.”
Are you saying Horowitz made up the above quote, that Boehner never said it?
Boehner does not oppose Obama’s agenda.
Boehner does not oppose Obama’s methods.
Boehner is the immediate cause of the Republicans failure.
