This is great news!!! We need unity right now. We need to be smart. Let’s give everyone a new chance, McCain too. I want us to succeed.....

I can’t believe that we’re going to see a vote on the Keystone Pipeline in the Senate....

Unanimous includes Ted Cruz, Jeff Sessions, Rand Paul, Jim Inhofe, Tom Coburn, and Mike Lee.

What do they know that we don’t?

It was unanimous because only McConnell was running for Leader. Of course he’s going to get 100% when he’s the only one on the ‘ballot’.

Just spoke to my congressman's office, Kevin Brady.

The lady told me that there was a meeting...think she said yesterday regarding the election of the Speaker of the House.

Boehner was unopposed. Three or four reps abstained their vote...the rest are supporting Boehner.

Anyhew, did speak to her about the whole Obozo executive amnesty thang.

She says that there are lotsa moving parts in Congress right now. One would be a move to strip funding out of an appropriations bill...put it on Obozo’s desk and let’em shutdown the gubbamint. hmmmmm, not sure that's gonna happen.

I asked her about a congressional injunction before the courts to temporarily halt this sort of executive action...she said that this was being looked into.

One other is an injunction by the states. First would have to have a “Cause of Action” take place, hence the EO. The states could then go into court and ask a judge for an injunction if they show this action would cause harm.

Just thought i’d share.

Why didn’t Cruz put his name in for leader?

A first term Senator does not have the seniority to be Majority Leader. Very few Senators would vote for him and it would be a humiliating defeat. Depending on how vindictive McConnell is, challenging him could have resulted in Senator Cruz being relegated to committee assignments that gave him little or no real impact.

.

- None here on FR could have pulled off the massive Republican stampede

- lots of BS and bragging and such - no truth, power, money

- winners win

- losers would give us Harry Reid for eternity

- even Glenn Beck has tried to claim credit for the wins - after pushing people who lost their primaries

.

Ugh! This idea needs to stop! They’re not pulling defeat out of the jaws of victory because for them, this is victory. Do you understand? We were duped. Again! What is happening is what they want. There is no other explanation. Before the election they were exempt, feckless, rudderless, stupid, whatever other superlative we tossed around. They won. Why do they need to change anything? It’s time to stop projecting conservative values on these guys. It’s time we figure out they are what they are.

I'll take it over the alternative of Harry Reid any day

I don’t get this whole “junior, senior” nonsense. Seems to me all Senators and Congressman are equally elected by the electorate and there shouldn’t be a situation where a “junior” member has to kiss ass of a “senior” member. All of that stuff seems to have nothing in common with the founding documents and has just become accepted practice.

Any member can be elected leader, its just that senators with a lot of seniority are unlikely to vote for a senator without much seniority. There have been the positions of majority and minority leader since 1920, and you’re right, it is a tradition.
The Founding documents place Joe Biden in charge of the Senate as its constitutional “president.” Nobody wants that! Probably not even Joe!
