If Senator McConnell really wants to play hardball with Obama, he should announce he will 'temporarily' suspend the Filibuster Rule in the Senate if Obama goes ahead with Executive Amnesty.
1) This will drive a wedge between Reid and Obama, since Reid's power will be directly tied to Obama's action
2) This will enable the Legislative branch to more readily balance it's powers with those of the Executive Branch
3) Much better than some Impeachment action, since it will actually give the Senate more power over the Executive Branch.
Desperate times call for desperate measures ...
Republicans are all talk and theater. No plans, no actions, no results. They only “won” the last election by default.
Senate announces it will suspend filibuster rule.
House announces it will not appropriate funds to liberal sacred cow projects, starting with Obummercare.
See the recent Obama recess appointment beat-down as an example of Congress controlling its own recess to thwart the President.

The GOP Ruling Class gets plenty of results for themselves, but not for us. We are the enemy to them.
They only won the last election by default.
You've got that right. They simply wait for people to get tired of the Democrats.
Executive amnesty will be more devastating and irreversible than Obamacare (which can be taken care of by a million cuts) and so must be dealt with NOW by ALL means. So, I think that only leaves impeachment or a military coup d’état.
Thanks for the credit! And thanks for putting it up as a post because it seems to have generated a lot of interest.
I agree with you. Checkmate. Shutting down an unconstitutional government would be completely merited but Obama would welcome the disruption as a distraction from his disasterous policies and he would use it to hurt the most defenseless citizens (for example I'm sure the first thing they would do is kick all the veterans out of the VA hospitals and blame their abysmal standard of care on heartless Republicans).
Removing the filibuster is nuclear only to the political class. The result as far as the rest of the country is concerned would be that a raft of excellent bills would make their way to Obama's desk. Plans for America's future that he would have to sign or veto ... no more voting "Present".
Indeed, on many of the bills, such as Keystone, there are probably a baker's dozen democrats would would be forced to vote in favor if a vote were ever allowed (no more hiding behind procedural manuvering), and therefore the best bills would be passed with a veto-proof majority. In this way the Legislative Branch would resume its Constitutional role in setting policy for the country rather than just waiting to see what the Executive does and then reacting by threatening to withold funding.
Remember, Obama's unconstitutional plans are not merely a nuclear move in the ongoing battle between Democrats and Republicans. They are an attack by the Executive on the separation of powers from whence flows our freedoms. Therefore, McConnell could justly claim to be leading not the GOP but the Senate and the whole Legislative Branch in defending its rightful role in our Constitutional Republic.
Have we forgotten the "Deemed to have passed" rule that Pelosie used?
That's why, henceforth, ad infinitum, EACH department of the Gov't get funded separately.
Gawd I hope Bohner & McConnell would learn to play chess ...
Great idea!
He will not be stopped by Congress or the Courts.
Whatever it takes. Fine with me.
Yep!
