Alabamian’s anti-veterans rant lands him in serious hot water

It looks like what we have here is a classic case of when “keeping it real” goes wrong.

On Veterans Day, while most Americans were thanking members of the U.S. armed forces for their service and enjoying their community’s holiday festivities, Michael Schuette of Anniston, Alabama took to Facebook to explain that veterans are not American heroes. In fact, he believes they “kill for profit,” “terrorize” other countries, have “never sacrificed for this country” and do “nothing for the American citizens.”

why is it that people jump to the defense of idiots like this as ‘its their right to say...’

and - um - defending that wife as ‘everybody makes mistakes’ is inane - a mistake is finding you bought canned yams in syrup on thanksgiving morning instead of plain canned yams - picking a life partner should be a little more seriously considered - and she probably agrees with her idiot husband

judgment and propriety are missing too - only a fool brings opinion into their business and expects no consequences - not all opinions NEED to be expressed - nor SHOULD they be expressed

We were down in Lomita and I was astonished by the number of American flags flying in peoples yards everyday

We are from the SF Bay Area and such widespread patriotism is unheard of here

What was even more surprising to me is Lomita is in a huge urban sprawl

Any one idiot enough to make those kind of statements in Shelby CO, TN would already have been shut down. Millington, may not be the biggest berg in the county, but it is home of a US Navy Base (BUPERS). Lots of Active Duty and Ret. Military in a 3 county area and 2 border states to Memphis.

Story would have gone no where unless my hubby a Ret. SCPO had it posted on his FB page, his best friend of 40 yrs from the Navy who just passed away a few months ago is engaged to his son. And she has no liking for libtards. I picked up the story and posted. Now a to millions more people know.

Society today has many problems. Some liberals go overboard trying to attack the problems by attacking anything they see as part of what they see as the cause, “the white Christian establishment”. Freepers frequently do the same in a different way by attacking anything coming from the government, good or bad, like CDC moves to stop ebola etc., or alternative energy.

This guy chose to overreact to todays problems by shooting himself in the foot. I feel for his wife, regardless of her beliefs. A woman should stand behind/beside her man, yet OMG did he screw that up. If any people are making death threats against his family, as alleged, they are a disgrace.

I hope this leads to some conversations that will enlighten him. If it weren’t for Vets, Hitler would have ruled the world. South Korea would be suffering like North Korea, etc.

Russia today is a perfect example of what happens when America shows any weakness. It invades Ukraine and ramps up hostilities.
