Yet another video has emerged of MIT professor and Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber calling Americans “stupid,” and bragging about how the Affordable Care Act’s drafters had to deceive the public in order to pass the law.

(snip)

“But now tonight,” Kelly reported, ” more video has surfaced showing this was not the first time Mr. Gruber called the American people stupid in an ‘off-the-cuff’ remark. In this next clip from also last year, Mr. Gruber explains how Democrats played with the language of the Obamacare law so that it achieved their goals, by again, fooling the stupid public.”

She then played a short 5-second clip of Gruber, saying the following, that a part of the Obamacare passed because “the American people are too stupid to understand the difference.”

I think the most damning aspect of the previous Gruber video is his admitting that transparency is bad. Concentrating on the “dumb” comment is probably minimizing the greatest noose we can hang big government advocates with.

The next time your average Joe complains about government waste, yet cannot accurately cite figures, we can just point out that government finances are set up deliberately for us not to find out true and accurate numbers.

Last night on The Kelly File, South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy made an appearance to address comments made by Obamacare architect and MIT professor Jonathan Gruber in 2013 about the deliberate “tortuous” language used to mislead “stupid” Americans about the healthcare overhaul in order to get it through Congress.

“I can’t get past the irony to get to the arrogance. The most transparent administration since the continent shifted had to rely on artifice and deception to pass its signature piece of legislation, you can’t make that up. He had to lie to people and then he justified it so I can’t even get past the irony of that to get to the arrogance of him calling our fellow Americans stupid,” Gowdy said. “I would say to the professor... you want to see how stupid the American citizens are take a look at last Tuesday night because they rejected you, this bill and this administration.”

“He just proved that he is willing to lie. He’s willing to lie because he has the arrogance of thinking that he knows what is best for this country and the citizens and voters do not, so keep that in mind the next time anybody tries to sell you on a big piece of legislation by calling this comprehensive,” Gowdy continued, adding that he’d like to see someone from the administration apologize for what Gruber said. “They lied, they got away with it and they got the bill that they wanted.”

Now that Professor Gruber has made it known that the ObamaCare law was a fraud, anyone who has taken it seriously must be considered a gullible fool — which, of course, includes all the members of our Supreme Court, who spent months poring over the document and all of its deceptive clauses without detecting the fraud within it, in fact, upholding the law so that it could continue to deceive and harm the public.

Well, I agree with this guy...

What I got out of what he was saying is this: they had to do this because the voters wouldn't be for the unvarnished truth because they are too stupid to know that Obamacare is good for them. Like you tell children that medicine is candy so they'll take it.

UUm, the American people didn't pass it; wouldn't it be more accurate to say that Dems in Congress were too stupid?

Well, had he specified it is Democrat voters that are stupid, ah, gullible...
The natural disposition is always to believe. It is acquired wisdom and experience only that teach incredulity, and they very seldom teach it enough. The wisest and most cautious of us all frequently gives credit to stories which he himself is afterwards both ashamed and astonished that he could possibly think of believing. - Adam Smith, Theory of Moral Sentiments

Here is the link to the comments by Gruber around the 31 minute mark (according to the daily caller)

http://stream.nts.wustl.edu/R131004001/

the video appears to be from a lecture Gruber gave at Washington University in St. Louis in October of last year, entitled “Cost of Health Care.” Indeed, Gruber’s remarks can be heard around the 31-minute mark of the University’s video of the event.

If he’s so smart and why is he shooting off his mouth on camera like this?

imho - because Gruber is the designated patsy for Obamacare.

Gruber was taking the fall because none of his projected savings were realized once Obamacare started to take effect. Gruber was too stupid to realize that he traded his career, his reputation, and MIT’s reputation for a few thousand dollars in consulting fees from HHS in order to provide lies about saving money for ordinary Americans that Obama could point to when Obama signed the bill.

Something like speculation ON

No doubt Gruber was fielding lots of questions from his economist colleagues on the topic of Obamacare economic viability, and he began to become frustrated at the questions since they brought into focus the large difference between expectations based on his projections and reality. So he needed a personal defense. Since his published economics research on Obamacare was in short inoperative, his response was projection. His new personal meme was to project the failure onto the stupidity of the American voting public and his justification in so many words was that the end justified the means. Regardless, he trashed whatever is left of his career because no one will ever be able to believe any research he produces, since no one from the time he started talking about the stupidity of the American public on forward would be able to tell if his research is accurate or intended to mislead for political reasons.

Gruber has torched his own economics work, his career, MIT’s reputation, and anyone else (such as the National Bureau of Economic Research, NBER) who has hired him as a consultant in recent years. Also anyone who peer reviewed any of his recent publications that have been used to justify Obamacare. Gruber has become radioactive in his area of specialty, economics. It probably also goes or at least should go a long way towards tarnishing the economist profession. These guys have been used by politicians to pull the wool over the eyes of the American public for decades. If prominent and well -respected MIT economist Gruber was lying, where does it stop? Which other economists lied, and how long have they been lying for? Since economics is a peer review profession, start with who else was in the peer review boat with Gruber when it went down? Peer review publication committees have names. All of these peer review colleagues of Gruber are now (thanks to Gruber’s speak-o’s) either liars or stupid. Let the games begin.

Something like speculation OFF

[AUDIO] EVEN MORE DAMNING GRUBER VIDEO COMING OUT SOON…MAYBE TODAY

Intrepid researcher Richard Weinstein, the man who found the original ‘we lied to the stupid Americans to pass Obamacare‘ Gruber video, says that an even more damning video of Gruber talking about Obamacare will be coming out soon — maybe even today.

It sounds like he’s working with Megyn Kelly at Fox News to release this video, who is waiting on the White House to respond to this new daming clip.

He explains below:

Not a single Republican senator or Congressman voted in favor of that monstrosity called Obamacare. It must be make perfectly clear that democrat Phd com man Gruber, called stupid not all the American voters, but just the democrat voters that put the “Liar in Chief” in the White House, in spite of his Marxist anti-American back ground, and all the Democrats legislators co-conspirators with the president and the MSM in the greatest deception against the American people in the history of the United States.

According to Obama, the MTI professor, a frequent visitor to the White House, was just an adviser. For his “invaluable advise and services” to the Obama administration professor Gruber received over 5.9 million dollars... Stupidity to the to nth power.
