Obama’s issues are not “Tar Babies, Obama is THE “Tar Baby”.

The idiots probably don’t realize that “tar baby” wasn’t referring to color, but about the fact that you can’t touch it without sticking to it or having it stick to you. I don’t particularly like Barbour, but he shouldn’t have apologized.

This is such a non-issue. The only thing here is that tar is black.
This only became an issue in the first place because new George W. Bush press secretary Tony Snow used it in an early press conference, and it gave the MSM an opportunity to gin up a good ole' conservative bashing.

How many people under about age 50 even know about a tar baby?
Since Disney has locked away the movie “Song of the South” for political correctness purposes, very few people younger than about 50 have ever seen the movie. It’s not available on home video. It has never been shown on the Disney Channel. Many young people today have no idea what tar baby refers to.

Oh the irony Haley. One minute you’re smearing conservatives and TEA party Chris McDaniel with lies calling him a racist who will hurt blacks. The next minute your big mouth ID’s you as the real racist.
You keep running your lying lips Haley. Vengeance is the Lord’s and I would not be standing any where near you any time soon.

as tar babies, a term some consider racially insensitive Blah blah blah
To: WKB
A tar baby is something that seemed attractive, but you just can't let go of, get rid of, and isn't so attractive after all.
It is an expression, and even was a candy iirc (licorice gummies). Nothing racist about it, really, unless someone decides that because tar is dark in color the expression is "racial", which would only trumpet their ignorance.
Pity people are denied the fundamental wisdoms found in Uncle Remus, they might come in handy--especially today.

“Eats Crow” sounds darn racist to me. Would they be talking birds of the dark feather persuasion or are they defaming a native American tribe? Kind of like the pot and the kettle.

JACKSON, Miss.Barbour referred to President Obamas issues as tar babies, a term some consider racially insensitive since it refers to tar babies in Joel Chandler Harris Uncle Remus stories. There were also friends in the Uncle Remus stories. Does that make the term "friends" racist? Liberals are so quick to play the race card and so stupid to take it seriously when that card is played.
