Also, it is my sense that this is the equivalent of ‘a suit at common law’ in terms of the 7th amendment. I know it was heard by an administrative law judge, but the couple was forced to pay, and that judge has the power to force payment, so it is either a dodge around the 7th amendment, or it ignores the 7th amendment.

Either way, this family farm should be able to insist on a trial by jury.

Marriage throughout mans recorded history has been a religious rite ordained of GOD our Creator between a man and a woman. Obedience to government demands on this issue is not mandatory before GOD nor should it be accepted by We The People. Marriage has held to the form of man and woman irregardless of religion throughout history and different cultures of the world. Not all cultures believe there is a supreme being such as a divinity in the sky (yes Virginia I do believe in a god)but at the same time those same cultures believe in the sacredness of a man to form a bond with a woman culminating in what could be described as marriage. The idea that through religion we have marriage is a misnomer. Although one could argue that religion in some fashion or form has always existed in the annuals of man and therefore marriage is done through the religion du jour. Marriage exists in the animal kingdom but only we state it in different terms. For example the male and female penguin mate for life. Or should that be couple for life. Maybe instead of desecrating the institution of marriage, we should call this deviant behavior of same sex union coupling instead and leave marriage to that of man and woman. However if history has proven anything human's tend to be lackadaisical leaning towards the lazy side of things and eventually coupling would eventually be called marriage anyhow. The original fight was to have same sex couples (see it was originally called coupling) was for the same benefits and rights married couples (marriage coupling now it becomes confusing) had. The old cliche holds water (not this cliche) here, give a man an inch he will take a mile.

The homos are a really vicious lot. They troll the country looking for people to attack.

...

I believe you’re right. They are being targeted.

The whole “gay rights” thing is just a front for the left’s anti-Christian agenda.

They just found a way to criminalize belief, and they’re using it to the most effect possible.

Well after these midterm results it looks like they are finally waking up, but that remains to be seen. We have a huge problem in this country with people who can’t think for themselves: Anything the media dictates they will follow, so for all we know the media could start this major Hillary blitz next year then they will vote for Hillary and Democraps and we will be in another huge mess.

To use a wedding to promote hostility is not what real marriage is about.

...but is a weapon not doubly effective when it weakens not only its victims, but its victims’ beliefs about himself as well...?

...the concept of ‘real’ marriage is what they seek to destroy, using the law as weapon...any marriage is a real marriage, in their eyes, and complications such as sexual restrictions are to be banished to the scrap bin of history...

“We had an openly gay man working for us this past season,’’ she said.

“We’ve had a woman who’s transitioning to be a man. We don’t discriminate against anyone.’’

Could it be that the liberals they voted for passed laws that came back to bite these people in the butt?

Don’t pay the fine. Sue the NY state government on the grounds that their own CONSTITUTION protects freedom of religious expression.

New York, doesn’t surprise me at all. It’s one of the most fascist states in the country, if not THE country. I unfortunately grew up in New york city and only recently woke up and moved a few years ago. When you grow up in that fascist environment, in a state and city run completely by Democrats, you think that being a slave to the state is what everybody does. It’s only when I escaped did I realize it is not like that, not every states attempts to steal every last dime of your money, seizes your property, enslaves you to support welfare breeding cows and illegals, or like this threatens you because of your religious beliefs. I tell anyone who is thinking of moving to New York: Take a look at North Korea. Now imagine it has food. That’s New York. Every single aspect of your life is regulated, controlled and threatened at all times. If that is your idea of Utopia then New York is the place for you. It is what Democraps want for the rest of the country.

“Freedom of religion no longer exists.”..

What do you suppose would happen if that had been a MUSLIM owner of that farm? Would they too be required to pay a $10,000 dollar fine to the gubmint? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Maybe freedom of religion ISN’T really dead, only the Christian’s religion.

This pair was illegally recording the phone call requesting accommodation for their ‘ceremony’ - just in case they were “devastated” by a refusal.

Uh-huh.

The majority does not matter even a little. The country has a homosexual president and first queen and is run to the greatest extent possible for homosexuals.

I wonder why they recorded that initial conversation? I also wonder if they called around to other places looking for the first one to turn them down so they could sue.

I am waiting for a minister or priest to be ordered to perform a “wedding” for a couple of queers or go to jail. That would constitute a requirement to sacrifice at the altar of a pagan religion.

The way out of this problem is to make an agreement with several different conservative churches, that are exempt from being forced to violate their consciences.

That is, these business owners need a written contract with these churches to only provide wedding services through these churches, if couples in those churches wish to use their services. Unless one of these churches sponsors the wedding, they do not have to provide services to the wedding.

Thus, they are no longer a “public accommodation” as far as weddings go, though they can offer services to the public for anything else.

So when some lesbian or homosexual couple calls them up to book a wedding at their place, they ask through what church has their wedding been referred. If it is not on the contract list, they can legally turn it down.

And they can easily provide a listing of those churches for the lesbians or homosexuals, for which they *contractually* provide wedding services. And those churches are under NO legal obligation to marry lesbians or homosexuals. So they can tell them to “bugger off”.

It’s not hard to set up this deal at all, and conservative clergymen would likely be happy to agree to it.

Similar arrangements can also be made for other businesses owned by people of faith. Wedding cakes, photographic services, wedding dresses, catering. All can be done by contract through churches only.

Thus, no homo.
