Video: New York Deputy Slaps Man For Refusing Unwarranted Search
"Let me see your f*cking keys... I'm searching your f*cking car"
I'm not your bro slick.
SIMPLY SLAPPING SOMEONE IN THE FACE IS NOT NECESSARILY ASSULT.
You're FOS and you being in law enforcement does not surprise me one bit.
BTW officer factor, you stated in #27:
In NYS, thats not assault.
Now ya conveniently change your mind and state striking someone in the face is "Not necessarily" assault.
Ya think anyone buys this bullshit?
In this specific case, it's not assault. THIS SPECIFIC CASE. However, I then went on to clarify that a slap COULD be assault in other instances where an injury is sustained. But I see you didn't address where I put the statute right in front of you where it actually says that slaps, kicks, and punches can be harassment and not assault. Way to go, bro.
I take it then that it is okay to slap a cop? The offence would be minimal harrassment?
Even if you do not injure them, you can be charged with ATTEMPTED felony assault. If you injure them, it's felony assault. I don't like the law, but I think they passed it to placate the city unions because bus drivers and subway employees kept getting their asses kicked and the attackers were only getting misdemeanor assault charges.
And yes, I work here. But I’m beginning to hate NYC and cannot wait to retire and move down south. There are some posters around here, though, who judge me simply because I live and work here. Nuts to them.
“Ohhh, so the standard is different for government trash. And I bet you question why people cheer on cop killers?
Buddy, you can cheer whomever you want. I’m sure the Pennsylvania survivalist cop-killer was right up your alley.
“My kind” are those who remember we have a sense of dignity and self respect equal to any cop. If that means striking back? We’re closer and closer, because cops aren’t getting the message.
As for people judging you? You chose a profession that actively shuns honorable behavior and responsibility. Live with it.
The fact is that cops and soldiers are VERY similar. It's just that soldiers tend to inflict their harm on people from other countries. So people like you don't care. But you see cops every day and can't stop yourself from judging them. And that's fine. We don't really care.
NY Penal Law
S 120.00 Assault in the third degree.
A person is guilty of assault in the third degree when:
1. With intent to cause physical injury to another person, he causes such injury to such person or to a third person
There has to be an injury to be charged with assault. The guy in the video claimed no immediate injury. So it's not assault. It's harassment.
Are you kidding? Ya strike a cops in the face, and they'll break your teeth out and or shoot you to death....
Different set of govenrment laws for governments hired guns.
Oh I see, so now you’re a physician too?
Did ya hear the government agent ask the person he struck in the face if he was injured?
Can I strike you in the face and claim I did not injure you?
Bullshit.
You coming on here and supporting these actions and claiming the officer physically striking someone is merely harassment should be enough to make every American recoil.
It’s no surprise to me, watching these daily videos of cops conducting themselves in this manner, that widespread distrust of government and their agents, continues to escalate.
28 year retired LTC here. What’s it say about your profession when you lose people like me?
Stop worrying about me and take a look up and down your thin blue line.
You’re truly delusional. I’ve stated multiple times this cops actions were wrong. All I said was that the video doesn’t show assault.
” But you see cops every day and can’t
stop yourself from judging them. And
that’s fine. We don’t really care.”
That’s your first problem. You don’t care. So then concepts of us being citizens means nothing to you.
But you are right about cops vs soldiers. I don’t have to fear how a marine will treat me. But I do have to concern myself with cops. They have been taught for years they don’t have to behave, and aren’t responsible for mistakes. The results are predictable.
This is America.
When ya physically strike someone who is not threatening you in any manner whatsoever, is physical assault. I don't give a damn if it's your neighbor, a cop, or a kid on bicycle...
You attempting to discredit the severity or minimize this event as merely a simple harassment incident is very typical of someone who's on the government payroll.
No, two partners with Glans, a local TV station reported earlier today.
The investigation into the situation is still ongoing. Although Sgt. Glans resigned, there were two other deputies on the scene during this incident, neither of which came forward until after the video surfaced. Zurlo says they are still being questioned and the matter is still under investigation.
