Putting his own spin on the election results that saw gains for conservative candidates throughout much of the nation, state NAACP President Rev. William Barber said Tillis' "narrow victory" was a repudiation of his policies, not a validation of them.
Barber said there were widespread reports of voting problems the State Board of Elections said the election ran rather smoothly and the shortened early-voting period and the elimination of same-day registration affected thousands of North Carolina voters.
"The magnitude of the problem may not be far from the margin of victory (for Tillis)," he said.
The NAACP planned to send letters to Tillis and Gov. Pat McCrory later in the day, asking them for a sit-down meeting to discuss backing off "extremist policies" and becoming more inclusive in their governing.

Got to the rec center to vote Tuesday evening. To my surprise the voting booths weren't in the small kitchen area as usual. They moved them into large gym so the anticipated crowd could be handled better. While walking through the doors to the gym, everyone was exposed to an officially printed poster board announcing that the photo ID law wouldn't be in effect this year but will begin in 2016.
Signed in and began to stand in the longish line. Didn't bring much to do since I really didn't expect to wait. Began reading the walls. At both ends of the court were large metal signs pointing out the rules. Number one rule - PHOTO ID REQUIRED to play frickin' BASKETBALL. I laughed through the entire half-hour wait.

2. Tim Scott.
That would be a great story with photographs. Any chance of any?
All we need is picture of the notice and one of the signs.

Liberal logic.

I smell the NAAL(iberal)CP, a whole dedicated arm of the Democrat Party.
The signs were up during the primary also.
Waiting for 2016 when somebody goes “Nobody told me!”
Pfft. What a load.
Tillis may have been helped by the lack of ILLEGALS voting, but he won because Kay Hagan was a total Obama sycophant who voted with Obama almost all the time.
No pics. I’m usually the only voter in the kitchen area during most elections. I didn’t expect any of this.
Hagan got only 33% of the white vote.

Ya know, if he was two inches taller, he’d be perfectly round.
Right out of the 30-year-old playbook. Yes you won but you still have to kowtow to us, because, um, you're white and we're black, yeah that's it.
We all know how you want the "discussion" to go, and you can go pound sand. Your 15 minutes are up and most of your putative constituency knows it.
I assume illegals did vote as the ID law goes into effect in 2016-—maybe fear of that future law was too intimidating for some dimwits-—not likely.
“Dear NAACP:
1. Mia Love
2. Tim Scott.”
And furthermore, unlike most if not all black demos, neither of these people hail from a specially gerrymandered black district
Tim Scott, Mia Love, Condy Rice, Justice Thomas, Allen West, Ben Carson and hundreds of others who know which policies truly lift people out of poverty and bring all races together as Americans first.
The racist NAACP should be marginalized. Republicans should quit attending their conventions or even replying to their mail.
he needs to try the Al Sharpton diet
