I knew a man in Arkansas years ago who bought a calf. He did not have his truck so he loaded the baby calf in the back seat of his car and watched it through the rear view mirror.

Every time the calf raised it’s tail the man would stop, grab a coffee can and place it under the tail to keep crap off the floorboards.

He got the calf home ok.

My husband and I were leaving Port City stock yards years ago after he sold some cattle. In the stockyard parking lot a group of orientals had killed a calf and were cutting it up in the trunk of their car.

I wanted to ask them the name of their restaurant so I would make sure I never ate there but I was so shocked I just walked by.

It is still one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen.

“he's Ecuadorian... I wonder if hes here legally”

Looks like he was breast feeding the cow in his little squared off Gistapo car.

In the late 1970s, I lived in a condo in a hispanic area. The next door neighbors slaughtered some animal -- I think either a calf or a goat -- in their garage, right next to ours, hosing it out when they were through, and gave ... err ... spare animal parts to the neighborhood kids to play with.

If I remember right, we moved not long after that.

Good steak is $9-$10 pound.
Burger is $5 or more.

The guy had a fortune in his back seat.

Is there a discount on fountain drinks with the purchase of a calf?

Take calf off.

Would this be considered a mooving violation?

Yes, CA VC penal code requires all animals to use animal car seats. Farm animals are no exception.

Might be a little tough for a farmer/rancher to identify a missing calf without identification marks, or a family portrait...

Rustling cattle is getting big again. 400lb steer will bring over $1000.00 today.

I always had trouble gettin' 'em that big into the back seat...

We lived in an apartment for a couple of months in’ 79. A Chinese lady across from us would fillet fish and lay them out on the sidewalk in the sun to dry. This is Houston Texas, fish don't dry here, they rot. I don't know how she kept the cats off the fish anyway. Different cultures, it is interesting to watch.
