ST. LOUIS COUNTY • Some Ferguson protest strategists turned on one of their own Thursday night, allegedly beating a man they accused of sending out unauthorized video of a meeting at Greater St. Mark Missionary Church in unincorporated north St. Louis County.
County police confirmed that they are investigating.
The victim, identified as Chris Schaefer, an University of Missouri-St. Louis student, was chased from the church, at 9950 Glen Owen Drive, and beaten outside. He was treated for his injuries at a hospital.
Patricia Bynes, a stalwart of the protest movement who attended the meeting, blamed members of the protest group Lost Voices for the attack.

He probably has no idea why his fellow liberal pacifists suddenly became violent, and just one beating isn’t enough to get him to wonder, “Hey maybe they just DON’T LIKE ME!!!” /s;)

Reminds me of the journalists who disappeared while trying to “get the scoop” on the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia; they thought they’d be treated like royalty (or brothers-in-arms) the way they had been by the media-savvy Viet Cong and North Vietnamese communists, and failed to realize they were dealing with hard-core fanatics who were systemically eliminating any trace of western culture. Possession of money (making class distinctions), speaking French (a sign of western education), wearing glasses (a sign of literacy) - all were grounds for execution in the workers’ paradise of Kampuchea...

The 23-year-old student, Chris Schaefer, says he was punched in the head, and kicked in the ribs and stomach. He suffered scrapes and bruises, and says he knows those injuries could have been much worse.
“I thought, ‘This could be it, I might die,’” Schaefer said.

They were getting so excited at the meeting about what they
planned to do after the announcement that they just
couldn’t wait.
