Republican Senator and potential 2016 presidential candidate Rand Paul has been busy piling on Hillary Clinton in the wake of the Democrats' 2014 midterm disaster. Whatever one wants to make of that, what hasn't gotten much mention is the end of the so-called centrist Clinton Democrat, courtesy of this year's election.
Because the GOP was fighting for its much coveted Senate majority in red and purple states, it's that once-vaunted wing of the Democrat party that took the biggest hits, to the point where it now may no longer even be viable.
That fact hasn't been lost on Elizabeth Warren supporters. Whether Warren emerges or not may be an open question. But it's hard to imagine a Democrat party that isn't increasingly progressive as a result of 2014.
Don't blame Elizabeth Warren for the Democrats' midterm defeat. Follow her back to victory.

Yeah, America is ready for more Marxism.
Pray America is awake
That would be a smart strategy. I wonder if the Repubs will be smart?
Warren went into Kentucky a few times for Grimes. They kept the appearances low-key outside of the Lou/Lex media markets because Grimes was selling herself to coal miners as a Sarah Palin clone.
Hell, I might send her a donation...
It doesn’t matter. Eliz Warren will never be president of anything.
Cruz or Walker will kick her ass.
One of Rand Paul’s most endearing traits is his never ending trash talk about Hitlery. I just love it.
Yes. She is the next Annointed One.
The thing about Warren is, she speaks a good populist game that appeals to blue-collar and middle-class people. Other than Palin, she's the only politician who can connect instinctively with workers.
I certainly don’t see black voters coming out in a big way for the Pasty Faced Millionaire Squaw. The Wisconsin Gov. election proves that out in a small way.
I’m stocking up on toilet paper just in case!
Yes, Hillary did go to battleground states. Both Clintons did.
The Clintons didn’t exactly help anyone get elected did they? In spite of all their support??
I think that Hillary comes out of Tuesday’s elections diminshed. Are the Clintons really king makers or that influential in today’s more liberal Democrat party?
As was true at this point leading up to the 2008 election cycle, Hillary was talked of as inevitable and the overwhelming front runner. But is she really?
Hillary was inevitable once before and was taken down. What makes anyone think that this is the time that she is really inevitable? Especially considering that the Clintons have always tried to make it seem that they are more moderate Democrats, and the liberals are really taking over the Democrat party nowadays.
And, the media will love Elizabeth Warren. They will definitely not treat her the way they treated Sarah Palin. So her whole image will be very different if she runs.
Reminds me of the schism between the really, really, principled conservatives and the more centrist republicans. Same argument, different people.
I think that Elizabeth Warren is a perfect replacement for Hillary. She and Hillary share the same (Nancy Pelosi) competence in science, economic theory, and finance. They are both adept at blaming others whether it be banking or the pharmaceutical industry, or free enterprise. They each know how to use their feminine credentials and ancestry to move forward, or to crush their enemies.
We welcome Elizabeth Warren to join us in the pool; the water is warm.
Agreed. The Democrats have forgotten how they swept into power in 2006. It wasn’t by running as left-wing ideological nutjobs. It was because Rahm Emmanuel went out and recruited a bunch of so-called ‘moderate’ Dems who could win in traditionally conservative districts. Of course it was a scam and they never intended to run from the middle, but they were able to pull the wool over the voters’ eyes.
Predictably, the Dems took a hard left turn starting in January 2009. Since then, all of those Democrat ‘moderates’ have lost and have taken the Dems majority with them.
Thankfully, I’m pretty sure the Democrat party is too stupid to realize this and will react by charging even further left.
Please, I'm a blue-collar guy and can't envision a strong leader in Warren. Can you imagine her visiting a coal mine wearing a miner's hat or a construction site wearing a hardhat?
It'd be another "Michael Dukakis in the tank" moment for her.
She's a small, lily-white woman who has no command presence at all, and appearance in a national election is key.
She’s Obama without charisma.
Add to it the whole fake-Indian thing and she’s a sure LOSER.
