Can Democrats Win Without Nominating Another Black Presidential Candidate? (VANITY)

Posted on 11/06/2014 2:09:32 PM PST by TigerClaws

Without massive black turnout I don't see Democrats having a chance. Hillary can't motivate the base.

Is Cory Booker the 2016 Obama? Black U.S. Senator with virtually no experience that'll pass up the Billary machine?

Let’s face it. 0bama is so unknown because he was put there. By intent. NO ONE has successfully exposed him. People have died trying to.

Who else out there looks like this on the Democrat side?

At the risk of sounding “racist”, I think Obola has made black Dems who want to run for president positively ‘radioactive’. Obola, unfortunately for those black Dems, has reinforced a lot of stereotypes: lazy (self-admitted in an interview), incompetent, living high on other people’s money (his own form of elitist ‘welfare’, race-baiter, major chip on his shoulder, and I’m sure there are other points that could be made.

Hillary is toting more baggage than a railroad skycap. IMHO she will decide not to run. Of course I was wrong once before when I thought I was wrong and I wasn’t.

Obama was the historic first black so they’ll either go for the historic first hispanic and/or woman

... or tranny.

You’re still a little drunk on the intoxication of Tuesday’s victory. It’ll wear off eventually.

With any luck, judging by the looks of the Stalinist bitch, there's a good chance Hitlery won't survive to run for anything but the morgue.

Imho, there's a greater likelihood of seeing a conservative black Republican on the ballot.
Doubtful that the (D)himmis will be eager to try another disØster like this one anytime soon.

Then again, they're (D)himmis, so who knows .. but if your enemy seems determined to hang himself, get some popcorn !

Fool them once, shame on you. Fool them twice, shame on them. It's not going to happen. The "First Black President" card has already been played. White guilt and Black solidarity won't be as strong this time around.

Plus, Booker won't have the wide appeal Obama did in 2008. He's not really a unknown quality that people can project their own fantasies on to (and there won't the First Black President card to generate those fantasies in 2016).

Booker is going to be typecast as a moderate Wall Street type unless he tacks far to the left, which loses him his base without guaranteeing any gains. He also doesn't appear to have the kind of team in place yet that can make up for his lack of experience, as Obama did in his first campaign.

Moreover, the young guy thing doesn't cut as well for Booker as it did for Obama. Both were inexperienced and relatively youthful in appearance, but Booker's age comes across as boyishness and not in a good way.

And Corey's unmarried. That doesn't play well either. He'll have to spend time explaining that he's not gay (or Jewish, either, since that's the other rumor circulating) or explaining that he is, and either way it cuts into his message time.

In answer to your question, nominating a woman will sway a lot of votes to the Democrats. With a Latino or African-American VP nominee they'll have a shot at winning.

Look. Bottom line is if you promise lots of free stuff, you’ll get votes. Doesn’t matter if they make stupid gaffes, foreign policy doesn’t matter, looks don’t matter. Gimmies matter and that is why Europe is so screwed.

Skin color, or, for that matter, gender, are evidently less critical than making sure that the candidate has a sociopathic personality. The trend started with Clinton and has only gotten worse each cycle.

Its not about skin color - its about charisma, ideas and passion - all of which Obama exhibited in his two successful runs for the White House.

Its like lightning in a bottle. Its difficult to capture that kind of personal appeal in a human being. The Democrats don’t have any one like him who comes close.

She won’t run. I’m not sure she wants to go through an election campaign again and Biden and a few Democratic governors and Senators are champing at the bit to run.

It’ll be a very crowded field on both sides. The disadvantage the Democrats have going into 2016 is all the Obama baggage. They’ll want to look for a fresh face after eight years of Obama.

Good question! It does put them in something of a box. They may go with a Latino, but then the Blacks will stay away. Ditto for a White woman (Hillary or Warren). That is their conundrum.

Maybe Michelle will run? [/s]

“I think that this country is done with black presidential candidates. If it survives the present one, that is.”

I’ll go farther, only conservatives can win with a black candidate in the near term.

A FReeper posted the other night, something along the lines of, “the Dems will run Hillary even if they have to taxidermy her corpse over animatronics.” LOL!
