All the GOP seats are safe with either re-election or other GOP candidates winning.

I can see a few Democrat retirements and a couple being defeated; namely Reid and the guy in Colorado.

“I would love to let McCain go but, he’s probably safe.”

An examination of the electoral map od Arizona will reveal why......Arizona is over half blue! McCain is only serving “Arizona’s” interests.”

How many are really vulnerable? 4? 5?

Depends on who is at the top of the ticket. If it's Bush or Christie or, God forbid, Romney again then all of them can be vulnerable.

The Democrats operate on the Brezhnev Doctrine:

What’s mine is mine, what’s yours is negotiable.

What we learned from Tuesday night is that even the most solid blue states can vote Republican under the right circumstances with the right candidates and with right amount of resources.

Hopefully GOP presidential candidates will make serious effort in the blue states as well, instead of writing them off like they usually do. RR won huge victories by campaigning in and targeting Dem voters in Dem states.

Not happy about Pat Toomey’s attempted gun grab.

But based on who we just elected Governor, the other candidate is likely to be an extreme-Left loon.

To die in the act of reaching across the aisle will be MCCain’s greatest honor.

McCain's mother is still alive at the age of 102. I'm sure that bolsters his dream of remaining in the Senate for the next 2 decades.

The battle grounds are Ohio, VA, NC, Fl & CO. We need those and I’m not sure who we ticket to take them all. I agree if they put up GOPe we get little.

Can’t we chew gum and govern at the same time?

“”As I understand it both Florida and Kentucky prohibit Senators from running for both that office and President. If Rubio or Paul want to make a POTUS run they must give up their Senate seat. Therefore both may stay out of the 2016 Presidential field.””

IMO that’s the way it should work in all states. I’m tired of paying salaries to people who are absent from the jobs they were elected to do while they campaign for a different office.

Federal law requires Members of Congress to forgo Congressional pay for days missed due to campaign appearances or other UNEXCUSED absences. 2 US Code 39

I haven’t looked it up in awhile but I think that’s the right code. National Taxpayers Union reported on Edwards Gephardt, Bob Graham, Kerry, Kucinich, Lieberman from 2003/2004 with dollar amounts that should have been reimbursed to the taxpayer with a list of other representatives running for higher office - 25 of them.

There is nothing to indicate that Section 39 is not binding for ALL MEMBERS OF CONGRESS.

Let’s start following the law, folks!

I have never found anything that indicates anyone has ever complied with the law.

The ones with potential to be picked off are: Kirk (IL), Murkowski (AK), and Toomey (PA). The others should be safe. Not many to choose from on the Rat side except Reid (NV).

Of the Dems that are up for reelection, these four might be dead from old age before 2016:

Barbara Boxer (California)
Patrick Leahy (Vermont)
Barbara Mikulski (Maryland)
Harry Reid (Nevada)

I don’t think so. His health is far from robust and contrary to popular belief he is the most unpopular Senator in the country according to polls. He would probably be a dead duck in a primary. My guess is that he will not run.

His ego is enormous. I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t run again.

The only Pubbies I might put on the “Endangered” list woul be:

Kelly Ayotte (She’s underwhelming)
Richard Burr (NC is getting Bluer all the time.)
Mark Kirk (IL is an un-fenced Insane Asylum)
John McCain (Old age)

I’d say the rest are safe. BUT..... Everyone is talking about 2016 being a hostile political climate for the GOP. Well, it all depends on who looks the worst two years from now; Obama or the Republicans in Congress. I say we can get mileage out of his failed Presidency in the 2016 Elections as well.

I worry about Dan Coats and Ron Johnson. But, even if we lost all of them we hold majority.
