Molly Shattuck, the former Ravens cheerleader who was married to onetime Constellation Energy CEO Mayo A. Shattuck III, was arrested Wednesday and charged with third-degree rape and unlawful sexual contact with a 15-year-old boy, Delaware State Police said.

Are you suggesting that teenage girls are never eager participants in trysts with older men? Because that would fly in the face of human history. The double standard exists not because the level of desire is different between teenage boys and girls, but because the consequences of that desire are different.
That may well be true... it is also true that she had her own kids who are younger at the beach house with her. I can’t imagine the shame they are feeling, especially as their family has been going through a divorce.
Oh yeahhhhh,,, its like one of those trick photos. If you stare long enough, she has eyes!
Again, I’m not saying what she did was okay nor do I approve. I’m simply saying this 15 year old boy isn’t scarred and is enjoying adulation amongst his peers.
“If this was a girl, we would all be shocked... somehow because it’s a 15 year old boy...it’s expected?”
Wow, you caught on quickly! It’s the circle of life there Simba. Most boys call this the coolest moment of their lives, not “the day they were raped”. Lol
Not actually true.
The boy will likely sell his soul for this woman now. He’ll do crazy stuff, and it is going to impact the relationships he has with other women down the road.
This is especially true of women his own age, who should share their relative lack of experience?
On the face, yeah, time of his life.
On the other hand, talking about warping someone’s expectations of women, love and sex?
Gotta love FR with these stupid “lucky guy” threads....
This kid will be scarred for life, yet the pervs are out in force (as they always are) claiming this should just be a fascinating “experience”.
You guys going to give your 15 year old son a “hi-five” if this happened to him?
Would you do the same for your 15 year old daughter?
On the other hand, the “time of his life” gives him untold confidence for future success. I think you’re giving too much credit to the emotions and mind of 15 year old boys. Neither are too deep for a boy going through puberty.
I was that kid. It’s a miracle I ended up where I ended up, given what I was prepared to do.
It’s a VERY good thing I had four solid friends in High School that are still my best friends today.
Statutory rape is about leading someone not equipped to make a coherent decision to make a pretty bad one, leading to other very bad ones. It’s still about controlling the kid, in the end. If you are lucky, they won’t ask you to kill somebody for you, for example.
The only thing they might ask is to punt all your scholarships and run away with them away from your parents for a few years. They’ll make the ask while tossing your salad, or doing something else other 15 year old girls have never heard of before.
I know 30 year olds, 50 year olds that were willing to leave their wives, lives, and families for a piece of tail. 15 year olds don’t stand a chance.
Head Cheerleader for the Cougars
Lucky little bast*rd; where was she when I was fifteen?
Why is someone from the Baltimore Ravens organization running afoul of the law even news anymore?
Bad decisions by high school boys happen all the time. Many are even prepared to run away with a girl their own age. Believe it or not, some teen girls have learned they can manipulate boys their age. Like you said, even 30 and 50 year old men make these bad choices. These things don’t necessarily have to involve statutory rape. The fact that you “ended up where you ended up” kinda makes your point moot.
I’m an outlier. Most kids follow the little head down the rabbit hole.
I actually do understand your point, but I don’t think you can make a blanket statement regarding this... the fact she enlisted help from her own son to entice this kid, and given that her younger children were with her when she took this kid to the beach with her family makes this very sordid and disgusting. Will the other high school boys high five him... probably.
What about her own son? and her younger kids? Are they also celebrating?
And among his female contemporaries, he can truthfully state having a level of experience, a selling point that can be valuable.
