GOP governor ousted in Pennsylvania

Voters in Pennsylvania chose first-time candidate Tom Wolf (D) over Gov. Tom Corbett (R) as their new governor on Tuesday.

Multiple outlets called the race for Wolf immediately after polls closed on Tuesday evening.

With the loss, Corbett became the first governor in the state’s modern history to lose a reelection race.

Wolf, a longtime businessman who turned around his family’s cabinet company, had maintained a strong and steady lead in polling ahead of the election, though the incumbent’s campaign claimed that the tide was shifting and momentum had turned in his favor in recent days.

Corbett’s approval ratings in the state have lagged throughout much of his first term, amid cuts to education funding. He has also been unable to get pension reform passed through the state legislature, one of his key priorities.

Wolf had called for increasing funding for public schools and leveling a tax on natural gas producers in the state, which Corbett had opposed.

Fully and completely pro-choice. Also green to the core. He’ll hurt the booming gas-drilling industry in Pa and carry out Obama’s plan to shut down coal plants.

We are so screwed.

Sorry to hear that. But I say again, don’t give up hope. Interesting times, all in the hands of the Creator Who does not allow evil to serve anything but the best interests of His Church, and this to the evil one’s eternal chagrin.

He'll have to get it through the legislature though...

Thanks FC. I’ll try to remember your wise words. We’ve had bad governors before!

Why did Corbett lose? It’s hard to get behind a guy who won’t fight. I voted for Corbett but you’ll have to pardon me for not wasting money or time on his campaign. After the gay marriage cave in, I called his office and told them I was done actively supporting a quitting loser.

So just to review, lets just look at the list of what we were promised by a Corbett administration:

1. Voter ID - passed late, stopped by judge, Corbett gives up refusing to fight further
2. Reallocate Electoral College votes by congressional district instead of overall to curb Philly fraud - Corbett gives up after whining by RINOs
3. Privatize State Stores - Corbett unwilling to go the mat against obstructing RINOs
4. No tax increases - Corbett caves to RINOs wanting to throw around PennDOT cash
5. State Pension Crisis - Corbett unwilling to go to the mat against union tool obstructing RINOs
6. Gay Marriage - activist ruling by Judge authorizes, Corbett gives up refusing to fight further

So I donate money and vote for Corbett and I don’t get anything I supported and my taxes go up OR I keep my money and have the democrat win and wind up with the same result. At least I have the money in my pocket for the new taxes.

Tom Corbett: “That boy got a lot of quit in him”

The next battle has to be to primary those eastern RINOs.

Or better yet, let everyone west of the Susquehanna secede from Philadelphia. It’s about 230 years overdue.
