Ted Cruz plans to lead the Republican Senate (moderates afraid!)

You can forget about Mitch McConnell. Ted Cruz has plans to take over… if the Republicans win their Senate majority. After a spell of cooperating with his party during the campaign season, the Post reports, he will elbow his way into de facto leadership.

In an interview at the Hotel Captain Cook here between campaign stops for Sullivan, Cruz made it clear he would push hard for a Republican-led Senate to be as conservative and confrontational as the Republican-led House.

Piggybacking on what House leaders have done, Cruz said the first order of business should be a series of hearings on President Obama, “looking at the abuse of power, the executive abuse, the regulatory abuse, the lawlessness that sadly has pervaded this administration.”

Cruz also would like the Senate to be as aggressive in trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act as the House, which has voted more than 50 times to get rid of the law.

Republicans should “pursue every means possible to repeal Obamacare,” Cruz said, including forcing a vote through parliamentary procedures that would get around a possible filibuster by Democrats. If that leads to a veto by Obama, Cruz said, Republicans should then vote on provisions of the health law “one at a time.”

And when asked whether he would back Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky for Republican leader, Cruz would not pledge his support… ...WaPo

Yea but you think conservatively and logically. A lot of that is lacking on threads lately so I figured I’d toss a gimmie out there to ease those types into the reality that’s about to blindside them in 48 hours.

AKA, the new Grand Old Democrat Party.

I would lead an entire mass of people and storm Congress to make this happen.

Let's give it a chance to shake out first. It's likely to go the way you predict but I still have hope of a major shift in Senate leadership.

(They better do it now if they really don't want to succumb in 2016.)

It’s open season on RINO’s. They can strip Ted of any office, but Ted will destroy them in the bully pulpit, which is all that matters in the media age.

Actually, if you listen carefully to McConnell, he has already promised to do nothing, except for AMNESTY.

I ‘be read this article elsewhere, today, on Facebook. I think that it was originally on the WA Post. This is what I was referring to when Rush was being so negative. Glen zebeck was just as negative.

It would be much better to be positive and echo Ted Cruz’ plans for Republican Senate.

I doubt the moderates are afraid, but Cruz should give it a shot just to rile them up.
