The Des Moines Register doesn't permit posts (they are fine with it by Real Clear Politics), so I had to use a back door to get the link posted. This race appears to be over. Read the article, listen to the interview, and examine the poll. The race that the Democrats said they had to have is done.

Saw this on FNS. Can’t believe it’s skewed toward Pubbies as it’s from the Des Moines Register.

Normally I would discount Register agitprop, but Ernst’s primary campaign showed a similar pattern, with late deciders breaking for Ernst.

And most Iowa statewide elections do seem to have large margins of victory.

Rekha Basu is on suicide watch.

The best part is that Joni is leading in all of Iowa’s congressional districts — including Braley’s!

Rekha Basu is the star columnist for the Register, and a very nasty piece of work. Her son works for the Braley campaign.

The Register commissions a very good polling company for their political polls and they have a very credible record. What is surprising here is that they usually try to spin it for the Democrats and they have not done that here. I believe that they know that it’s over and don’t want to be caught short failing to recognize it.

“Pardon my ignorance, but who is Rekha Basu?”

From her Wiki, it looks like she’s another illegal alien Elephant humper from India. This is another group of illegals that bear watching.

As it turns out, Ernst wins by about 7 percent. Pollster props!

7 percent, the same margin reported in the Selzer poll. They seem to know what they are doing. Good for the people of Iowa, it’s nice to see the Harkin era come to an end.
