DALLAS — A Dallas nurse who recovered from Ebola will soon be reunited with her dog, which has been sequestered since his owner became ill.

The King Charles Cavalier spaniel named Bentley is in quarantine at an abandoned Navy base in Dallas.

His owner, Nina Pham, was diagnosed with Ebola earlier this month. She contracted the virus while caring for a Liberian man, Thomas Eric Duncan, who died Oct. 8.

City spokeswoman Sana Syed said Thursday that the dog has tested negative for Ebola and that his 21-day quarantine — the Ebola incubation period — ends Saturday.

Why didn’t the dog hire a lawyer and fight the quarantine? He should have threatened to sue the state. /s

Cute doggie, glad he is OK.

No, Ms. Pham is a trooper. She did everything right and was as gracious and, BTW, appropriately dressed for her press statement - a rarity of late.

I’m sure this nice little dog wants to go home.

What about this nurse’s boyfriend? There hasn’t been any more news about him.

Excellent. Let’s hope cops don’t decide to shoot it before getting it back to her.

I think a reunion photo would be terrific. Both dog and owner are real troopers. Best wishes for them.

Since viruses can behave differently in different species (example: rabies can take from between 3-12 weeks in some species to show itself), how do they know that the dog is clear?
