51 votes won’t repeal Obamacare - it won’t override the guaranteed veto. What it will do is de-fund that evil law, which is almost as good. The thug in our White House could veto that budget, but then Obama would be the one shutting down the government to preserve mandatory Christian payments for abortion. I strongly approve of putting America’s most dangerous enemy in history in that position. This makes taking over the Senate even more worth while.
What it will do is show that the Republicans are not just all talk and no action.
For too long, Republican leaders have given excuse after excuse as to why "now" is not the right time for the fight, or they suppose the worst case scenario and then act as if that worst case had already happened.
Never do they actually put the proverbial into play and see what comes of it. They might be surprised by what results. They may find some red-state Senators like Manchin or King, or maybe even a desperate Landrieu, Shaheen, or Hagan, might join their side. Of course, it's too late now for a play for desperate Democrats, but that's typical McConnell for you... afraid of his own shadow when it counts, and then a bull when it doesn't.

No way. A government “shutdown” is a cross and garlic to the GOPe.
This makes taking over the Senate even more worth while.
Aah but then there is the noisy few that will vehemently argue that point to thread extinction.

I want to see the bill go to Obama, (Mr. Votes Present) and see if he will for once stick his neck out for anything. I bet he will let it sit until it passes by default. Hairy Reams has kept Obama from having to make any hard veto choices.
I would agree...this is theater, that’s all.
But here’s the thing, as you get to spring of 2015 and realize that another million Americans did not sign up for health care because the costs/deductible was too much...it comes back to rest on the President as he vetoes the 51 vote. Spring of 2016, another bunch quits their health care policy. So you stand there in November of 2016, now realizing that just as many Americans (if not more) have no health insurance than in 2008....the question is....what the heck was this whole mess about?
The eight years ends with a whimper over achievement, or the lack of such.
We had a cost issue. The whole gimmick has no relationship to fixing cost...it was redistribution of money, from one to another. Hours, days, weeks, and months....wasted. Nothing got accomplished.
