Owners can check by manufacturer. Here is the list of vehicles released Wednesday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration:

Note: The list below corrects the list that accompanied NHTSA's Oct. 20 advisory, which incorrectly included certain vehicles. The numbers cited for potentially affected vehicles below are subject to change and adjustment because there may be cases of vehicles being counted more than once. Owners should check their VIN periodically as manufacturers continue to add VINs to the database. And in related news, testing dummies are increased in weight, to reflect fatter, and fatter Americans.

The video I saw indicated the test dummies were being made heavier, from 170 lbs. to 270 lbs.

2006 - 2008 Dodge Ram 4500.
No such thing as a 2006 Ram 4500.
I have a 2008 Ram 4500 and i think the first year for the Ram 4500/5500’s was 2007.

At 10,000+ pounds i’m not too worried. I have not seen a recall notice yet.

The model year range is from 2001 to 2007 and the airbag part was made somewhere in Asia. Only a small percentage of the parts are likely to have this problem should the air bag be triggered in a crash.

If you own one of these vehicles it is a concern, but one you could tolerate for a while. The recall will take a long time to fulfill as the numbers are huge. Many of these vehicles will be scrapped due to age or not worth repairing. The manufacturers may consider a rebate amount on a trade or purchase as another way to do the recall.
