This is the story I read. During the ayatollah’s take over a societ diplomat was kidnaped by the islamists.
The soviets had word of the leader of the kidnappers.
They captured his brother and sent the brother’s testicles to the leaders house. The diplomat was released the same day.
Yes, that is exactly how it should be done. Anything milder won’t have the proverbial “oomph” (impact).
