The climate change movement has gained such unstoppable momentum in the past decade that it comes as a surprise when anyone prominent has the guts to stand up against it. It is even more surprising when that someone is the co-founder of the Weather Channel.
John Coleman, though, has decided that the theory of man-made global warming is no longer scientifically viable. Having closely studied the topic of climate change for years, Coleman insists that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has it all wrong. There is no significant man-made global warming at this time, there has been none in the past, and there is no reason to fear any in the future.
Colemans breadth of contrary evidence comes largely from the NIPCC, a collection of scientists unaffiliated with world governments, who aim to offer a second opinion of the evidence in contradiction to the findings of the IPCC. Though Coleman acknowledges that some evidence points to rising global temperatures, he contends that it can be easily explained by natural phenomena rather than carbon dioxide and man-made pollutants.
Colemans credentials do not include a degree in meteorology, but he has been invested in the TV weather business for more than 60 years. This is certainly not the first time hes spoken out against what he calls the greatest scam in history. He penned a long, detailed column in 2009 called The Amazing Story Behind the Global Warming Scam. In it, he detailed the history of climate change science, claiming that a quest for funding led unscrupulous scientists, government bureaucrats, and environmental activists to perpetuate an unproven hoax for more than half a century.

Idiocy? Well, well, well I'll add that to the list of pejoratives from the leftists that I wear with a badge of honor.

Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site. If I may, a few quotes (and I've pinged The Man to make sure none of my snippets are out of context) from that:
Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.
We do not believe that government or science knows what's best for us or our children. We will make our own decisions thank you very much.
And a few years ago a group of evolutionists tried to force FR over to their way of thinking and they soon found themselves on the outs.
Darwin Central has again declared war on FR. They have ping lists and email lists and will try to pull away as many FReepers as they possibly can. So be it. Those who would rather go with Darwin, please go. I sure as hell won't try to stop you. FR will remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator conservative site.
My take on godless Darwinian evolution (a phrase that equates to leftist junk "science") is that everything has worth knowing about the "Origin of the Species" has already been covered more than adequately here:
-- Genesis 1:1. And that's all there is to it.
BUMP!
1.) You’ve presented a series of contrasts, not similarities.
2.) You’ve demonstrated willful ignorance of the biblical texts.

That he (qam1) certainly did and "hoisted by his own petard" comes to mind. One of the most loyal and most savvy of FReepers (as well as a key player in FReepathons) is perennial favorite DJMacWow who has summed things up in her always on-target, succinct manner:
Well said! Very well said!
That's correct. The two groups are the lowest-IQ segment of each political party.
BTTT!

Don’t like it? Then stop plate tectonics.
I am in the odd position of believing in both God and evolution because evolution is the better story. Thomas Aquinas might have come to the same conclusion had he known.

The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist . . .. . . The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded. Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientifictechnological elite.
