By the way, House GOP still hasn’t filed that lawsuit challenging Obama’s executive overreach

I rather suspect the dems have cautioned Boehner not to do anything.

Boehner has been cozy with dems for years and years; they used to meet regularly at a local pool hall, so Boehner could smoke.

And .. people are wondering why most of the current repubs are willing to sit back and do nothing ..????

It would detract from the message that election is about stopping Obama.

Isn't the purpose of the suit to stop Obama? So how does filing it detract from the message?

“So the lawsuit was a political move, “boob bait” to get us excited before the election. But none of that explains why they’ve held off on filing it. What do they have to lose by following through?”

Because the MSM would rip the Republican party a new one, which will fire up the rat base and we will lose more seats than gain. When someone is digging a hole for themselves, you do not offer them a ladder.

Because then: (1) Resources (time, money, etc.,) are being diverted to litigation instead of campaigning; (2) the news cycle is about a lawsuit and not the issues driving the election. Instead of stories about ebola, illegal immigration, ISIS, etc., the media would obsess over the lawsuit and lawyers. And people hate lawyers even more than they hate politicians.

They know it will be dismissed in 30 seconds for lack of jurisdiction, and as a political question, and they don't want that to happen before the election.

Excellent point.

Boehner and them lied. They just wanted to make conservatives shut up for a while.

GW. Ok they want a fence I will sign the legislation to build the fence.

McCain; If they want a g-d@mn fence we will build a g-d@mn fence.

Boehner: If they want us to stop him we will sue him.

The same familiar tune we dance to it so often.

In the first place, I never for a moment believed Boehner would carry it out. I always saw it as a stunt, because if Boehner WAS to honor his pledge to the Constitution and acknowledge Obama was acting without authority from the Constitution, then he would have called a spade a spade, and declared Obama’s unconstitutional acts “high crimes and misdemeanors” and set the impeachment process in motion.

He didn’t because while the House can impeach a President the trial and any conviction must take place in the Senate, and THAT was never going to happen with Scary Harry in charge there.

So, Boehner pulled a stunt, and for dubious political benefit.

"Is nice to hope but heads up... there is no hope if your looking for the GOP to save us."

You are correct. And I am certainly not depending on the GOPe to save us.

I am looking for God to save us.

There’s probably not a single person in Congress who couldn’t be blackmailed by SOMETHING, other than maybe Ted Cruz. Cruz is a rare bird, unfortunately.
