Grimes Ad: Kentucky Women to Mitch McConnell: Shame on you!
MSNBC ^ | October 26, 2014

Posted on 10/26/2014 6:44:13 PM PDT by Din Maker

In a new ad from Kentucky Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes, a handful of women from the Bluegrass state stare straight into the camera and blast Republican incumbent Mitch McConnell for his shameful 30-year record on women.

“Shame on you Mitch McConnell,” an African-American woman says, arms crossed.

“You’ve turned your back on our mothers, our daughters, and me,” another woman continues.

More women lambaste the Senate minority leader for voting against the Paycheck Fairness Act and declining to vote for an expanded Violence Against Women Act in 2012: “Instead of enforcing equal pay for equal work, you called it preferential treatment” // “You’ve stood against stronger laws on domestic violence.”

With a recent Bluegrass poll released on October 20 finding the candidates in a dead heat without a gender gap in either direction, both candidates are fighting aggressively over the women vote with the little time left until the midterm election on November 4.

In an ad last week, the McConnell campaign also showed women speaking into the camera, accusing Grimes of thinking she’s got the vote just because she isn’t a man. “She thinks I’ll vote for the candidate that looks like me, rather than the one who represents me,” one woman said.

But based on his track record, McConnell positioning himself as a champion of women is a tough sell.

“How dare you claim to be pro-women,” a woman in the Grimes ad says. “Real Kentucky women know better,” another woman concludes.

Grimes on Sunday was endorsed by two of the biggest news outlets in Kentucky, The Courier-Journal and Kentucky.com. Both commended her support of women, particularly in closing the wage gap.

‘Big tent Reaganite’????

The ‘Big Tent’ philosophy of abandoning Conservative principles to attract Democrats and liberals was NEVER anything Reagan would have supported.

The entire ‘big tent’ meme was a Rovian Bush II election strategy in 2000.

And we know how much of a Conservative Rove is.

>>>But I am persuading minds outside this forum to choose principle over expedience in a little over a week<<<

I’m glad you’re making progress in convincing people that Democrats are better than Republicans. (heavy sarcasm)
Make that SOME Republicans...

I’m in CA. You can’t convince anyone here about anything, especially if you mention the words Conservative or Republican. Even the word Constitution gets them riled up.

Do what you think is right my FRiend and I will do the same.
I’m really not into Flame Wars and hurt feelings. Even if we here disagree, we are still fighting the same fight.

I'm making progress helping traditionalists understand that voting for Establishment Republicans is not going to save us from fundamental transformation into big government fascism, nor will it advance Conservatism when the very people they are voting for are at war with their beliefs and want them rendered irrelevant.

I do not have any hurt feelings. I stand on what I think and believe even if I stand alone.

Defending Conservatism is my fight, for that is the moral foundation of the country. Once that is gone, so is the country, which is why I will never again vote for the lesser evil.

The Goal is the same for everyone here.

The disagreement is how it’s accomplished. My view is that nothing will change with the Democrat Party in perpetual Power.

I live in CA where we already have One Party Rule and it’s never changing. The rest of the Country is following suit.

Anyway, it’s been an enlightening back and forth. Carry on.

Yes, it’s called sharpening iron.

We are in a war are we not?

The problem is recognizing not only the enemy we can see, but those who in all practicality and actuality, serve the enemy and work to sabotage us from behind us as well.

That is the reality we now exist in.

The Ruling Class are not going to permit any challenge to their power and authority. I just heard that to thwart any freshman Conservatives in the House - the Ruling Class under Boehner and McCarthy are going to fast-track a year-in-advance budget bill in the Lame duck session BEFORE the new House is seated, so as to eliminate any chance of using the power of the purse to stop Obama’s agenda.

I’m originally from Crook County, IL - One Party Marxist rule there too with mob Enforcement. Not ever going to change by civil means. Never. There the GOP is in itself infiltrated with Democrat Leftists yanking the party into supporting Leftist policies and joining Democrats in destroying any Conservative that dares to raise his head in opposition. Now it is national, and what we see happening in D.C. is what I saw there.

The goal is to advance Conservatism, and sadly - where you and I may differ, is that I no longer see the GOP as a party that upholds our principles - rather I see it as hostile to us as the Democrats are.

The fruits of the ‘big tent’ GOP are self-evident to anyone who has a modicum of being honest with themselves.

A party almost indistinguishable from the Democrats. A party with no vision, or direction except to war on Conservatives and withhold funding to nearly every Conservative on the ballot if they are not Establishment lackeys.

You have not established that you have any idea of what you are talking about when it comes to Reagan’s “big tent” philosophy. You just merely go on to the next talking point on your list.

Be honest with yourself. You have a point of view that relies on the inability to make distinctions. Don’t besmirch Ronald Reagan with your foolishness.

If you think you are going to convince us that the current GOP “Big Tent” philosophy of adopting Democrat policies and excoriating Conservative social principles as being of Reagan, don’t bother - we are not imbeciles as you assume we must be.

I am now convinced that you are a concern troll.

Who is paying you? My best guest is that it traces back to a union associated with George Soros.

Keep guessing, Party Hack.

Your Masters on the plantation must be real happy with your efforts to intimidate Conservatives into betraying their principles to vote for the liberal Ruling Class Statists now leading the party.

I’m betting you are a Rovian stooge yourself. Got a ‘K’ street office do you?
