Massachusetts Father Mad Just Because Public School Teaches ‘There Is No God But Allah’

Millions of students in public schools don’t understand fractions or pronouns at even a basic level but students in the oceanfront Boston suburb of Revere, Mass. are taking the time to learn all about Islam — in the most embarrassingly shallow and cheerleading way imaginable.

Part of the textbook prints the Muslim Call to Prayer, according to Boston NBC affiliate WHDH.

“I bear witness that there is no God but Allah,” it says.

The textbook portion also reverently celebrates Muhammad’s life.

“Muhammad never expected to change world,” the admiring, rah-rah textbook reads.

“Muhammad later tended sheep on the dry hills like many young Arabians,” the text explains. “Later he became a successful merchant and married a wealthy widow. However, he felt as though something was missing in his life, so he went on a retreat.”

I have no idea what you are talking about. You asked me a question. I answered it. And now you ask again.

If you cannot keep up, you shouldn’t be playing with your grandkids computer. You might break it.

Weak attempt to snark. Why?

You posted that it was a comparative religion class.
I corrected you, pointing out it was a history class.

Most intelligent people when posting a quote from another’s post put the QUOTE in quotation marks to correctly annotate and differentiate from one’s own words.

When I saw the question < where does it say that> I thought you were asking me where is said it was a history class.

It says much about you that you felt you had to be rude. Did it make you feel better?

Actually it did. A little. And then not so much. Sorry about that. I think we were engaged in semantics. The religion part of the history segment was discussing the religious movements at the time. <> I guess the thing that amazes me is that people are not "capable" of hearing something, and filtering out the BS. If I were in a class and someone read out the tenants of Islam, I would think, "Thats nice. For them." In the US I grew up in, and the world I live in, we tolerate a lot of different views in a pretty small geographic place. My work place of almost 1000 people would have every conceivable religion. Everyone got along fine. Yeah, we had "holiday parties" not "Christmas parties." But it wasn't that big of a deal--we knew that Christians and Jews (the two predominate religions) did not celebrate the same holidays. But there wasn't a ton of PC among the rank and file. Some of the HR people were all warm and fuzzy, but everyone else just shook their heads at them. That is the way I was raised (Christian, Congregationalist). We respected them, but did not bow down to them. And we did not expect them to bow down to us. It just wasn't a big deal. I learned about Islam in high school back in the 70's. I also learned about Buddha, Confucius, and B'Hai. No on got upset. No one got worked up. I think the bigger issue is that when I learned about Islam, it was around the same time I was going through "confirmation" in my religion. So there was no competition. And the "new testament as literature" class was an easy half semester A. Because EVERYONE in my circle of friends knew the material.

married a wealthy widow

Now we know where the traitorous self-hating Jew, John Effin Kerry, is coming from.

I wondered in my first posts if all other religions were part of the class and if the other religions were treated in the same edited favorable manner. That makes a huge difference. Major facts about Muhammed were missing from the quoted account in the link. His known abuse of young girls is one example.
I would like to see the entire segment and how Christianity and Judaism were treated. I know slanted teaching and textbooks exist.

I have read accounts in textbooks of the early people settling America. it was noted that people who settled in the north came here with pure intentions ( the words in the text) of creating better lives for everyone while people who settled in the south came here only to make money and enrich themselves ( again the words in the text).

This is but one example of what is going on today. Get your hands on any current ‘social studies or history” book. I would think you’d be appalled.
Completely different from the 70’s.

So if islam was treated favorably but the other religions not the man has a point. OTOH if all were treated even handedly he does not

I stuck something in brackets in my last comment that was obviously taken as HTML. I have to remember my brackets when writing here.

In essence, where the double brackets are located, it was written that the rest of the post was not directed at you specifically. I did not want to seem like I was going (with you) in another direction.

Plus it really screwed up the formatting.
