Millions of students in public schools don’t understand fractions or pronouns at even a basic level but students in the oceanfront Boston suburb of Revere, Mass. are taking the time to learn all about Islam — in the most embarrassingly shallow and cheerleading way imaginable.
Part of the textbook prints the Muslim Call to Prayer, according to Boston NBC affiliate WHDH.
“I bear witness that there is no God but Allah,” it says.
The textbook portion also reverently celebrates Muhammad’s life.
“Muhammad never expected to change world,” the admiring, rah-rah textbook reads.
“Muhammad later tended sheep on the dry hills like many young Arabians,” the text explains. “Later he became a successful merchant and married a wealthy widow. However, he felt as though something was missing in his life, so he went on a retreat.”

Ah...it was in a comparative religion class. Islam is one of the most significant “religions” in the world.
If you did not want your kid to understand how a billion or so people think, perhaps you should not have allowed your kid to take the course.
This parent is uninvolved, ignorant, and just plain stupid.
It’s like taking a course about 20th century Europe, and being pissed off about them discussing Nazis.
However, there is a remedy for this nonsense .. if the parents are willing to do it.
Several years ago, a school in Oregon changed the curriculum and offered mainly craft and easy subjects to the children. The parents were totally upset. PTA didn’t help them.
So, the parents had a secret meeting; organized classes for all the children, after school programs, etc. The following week of school NO STUDENTS SHOWED UP .. at least a sufficient amount that the school panicked .. why ..?? Because the feds only give out dollars for the NUMBER OF CHILDREN WHO ATTEND. Since attendance was Waaaaaaay down, the dollars stopped coming in.
If I remember correctly, it was only a few weeks before the school called a meeting .. got an ear full from the parents and realized they had to change (WOW - they forced these lazy, irresponsible teachers to put back the normal curriculum).
It’s probably difficult to do .. but now is the time to act before the schools start compelling the children to become Muslim.

Exactly. If a public school taught about Christianity, you can bet your bottom dollar that they wouldn’t leave out the inquisition. These days, that would be all they taught Christianity to be.
If it is like the comparative religion courses my kids took ( in A very jewish community in MA) just a few years ago, it was descriptive in nature. It did not discuss what the idiots DID in the name of their God. And that was applied across the board.
Again, the parent might have wanted to review the course before their child took it.

I can see in a history class segments on all the major religions. This seems a pretty favorable story on Muhammed. did it also mention he used 6 y o girls?
I would like to read how Christianity and Judaism are handled> What do they say about Jesus for instance.
