The Fear About Things That Won't Kill Us Is Killing Us (What's worse than Ebola & ISIS? Guns)
The Daily Beast ^ | October 25, 2014 | Cliff Schecter

Posted on 10/25/2014 9:59:35 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Scare-mongering by opportunistic politicians and media are hiding the real killer in our midst: the pervasiveness of guns, which kills up to 30,000 Americans every year.

It really isn't a tall order to scare Americans these days, and in particular our delicate representatives in Washington. Ebola, ISIS, 10-year old children on our southern border. This is the stuff of nightmares, and no amount of money is too big to spend on keeping them all far, far away, even though they've killed virtually no Americans.

Lindsey Graham can barely get ISIS out of his mouth before blowing his shpadoinkle and screeching "we may all get killed!" Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., did him one better, imagining Ebola-infected members of ISIS entering the United States as human WMDS. Then there's former Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown, who while remodeling himself after the Patriots as a generic New England product, has become convinced that kids with Ebola are about to come rushing across the southern border like Pancho Villa.

Meanwhile, returning from la-la land to our regularly scheduled program, 86 people died in the United States today from gunfire. Just like the day before. Much like the 86 who will die tomorrow. Nobody died from Ebola, or ISIS or Honduran children, unless it was in a goofball-induced, Louie Gohmert fever dream. Funny, then, that you won't hear these very same tricorne-wearing town criers utter a word about this preventable sickness that is genuinely killing Americans.

This is only made that much worse by the grim statistics we augmented on Friday. We had our 87th—yes 87th—school shooting since Newtown. If this doesn't shock you at least somewhat, you've been living here too long. This time it was near Seattle, where another troubled young man got his hands on a gun....

Where's his "anti-automobile" screed? Or his "anti-swimming-pool" rant? Or his "anti-acetaminophen" column? Or his "anti-farming" or "anti-mining" or "anti-logging" diatribe? Those things kill all kinds of people.

governmental-imposed-Ebola and
governmental-imposed-EV-68 are RISING.

How many home invasions has ebola or ISIS stopped this week? How many points of meat has ebola brought home to families this week?

Yes, guns kills people but they don’t do it by themselves and that isn’t all they do. Ebola, ISIS, and Barack Obama do not have any beneficial uses whatsoever and they should be removed from the planet long before we pass a single new gun law.

Anybody got the stats on how many Americans are killed by illegal aliens each year? Where’s the outrage?

Here in Wisconsin there's millions of guns...more than the population of about five million. Even many Democrats love guns and hunting. Outside of Milwaukee deaths from guns are mighty rare. Heart attacks and falling from deer stands might kill more deer hunters during hunting season, but I could be wrong. In fact, the deer might kill more citizens (auto accidents) than hunters shoot other hunters.

So if the proliferation of guns creates innumerable gun deaths, where are all the homicides outside of Milwaukee? Just about non-existent.

Murders using guns (suicides are a separate issue entirely) is a Democrat problem, not a gun problem.

Let me repeat, murders in which a gun is used, are a Democrat problem—not a gun problem. Until some steps are taken to straighten out Democrats, violence involving guns will continue to be a problem.

Violence involving the use of a gun is a Democrat problem, not a gun problem.

And lastly, violence involving the use of a gun is a Democrat problem, not a gun problem.

Can any Democrat prove me wrong, with data and objective evidence? No, I didn’t think so.

If guns automatically jumped form one person to another, then shot everyone around them including the person with the gun, followed by the government denying that it ever happened, then the gun analogy might be be valid.

“...87th—yes 87th—school shooting...”

Moron’s probably counting the rural schools’ rifle teams who have had matches, since. </heh>

Similar story over in Pennsylvania, leave the cities, and murder is almost unheard of, even robberies very seldom actually result in death in rural areas, in fact, most robberies can rob a store clean out of money and know that they aren’t going to encounter the cops. There has been the cop sniper shooting suspected by the man who stole his Father’s gun (Frein) but actual murders in PA in the rural areas are rare. You do have to look out for deer on the road though.

I have a heckuva lot of guns and not one has ever committed a crime.

So much for their “theory”.

Bravo Sierra.

The only way he even gets close to 87 is by adding in all of the pop tart guns and finger guns.

No. Some outfit (moms looking for a little action?) put a number like this out. Their criteria was something like, did this person ever attend school, then it is “school related”. Just BS.
