EU to UK: You did well and will be punished for it.

EU to the rest of Europe: You did poorly and will be rewarded for it.

From each according to his abilities; to each according to his needs. I’m thinking I’ve heard of that concept somewhere before.

Okay, so your sound running of your economy is being punished to support those member nations who are being wasteful and irresponsible. Yeah, that sound like a great partnership.

Why any country would give up any of its sovereignty is beyond me. I can understand a basket case looking to hitch itself to harder working suckers. I guess they are all looking to mooch off of the others. Surprise. It can’t work.

If I was the UK, I would tell the EU to stick it.

This is a stealthy and unstated punishment due to much of Britain’s currently good economic situation is due to paper shuffling activity in “The City” and a huge influx of wealthy foreigners and their money being placed in British banks. Am talking rich Russians and Arabs and Chinese

The UK has been told it must pay an extra £1.7bn (2.1bn euros) towards the European Union's budget because the economy has performed better than expected in recent years

From each according to their ability...

Punished for success. The EU budget is not a budget if it is scaled this way.
