Even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally. And even a nutty organization like Greenpeace can spawn someone who talks sense.
Dr. Patrick Moore, a co-founder of Greenpeace—you know? the save-the-whale people who block Japanese harpooners?-- says that there is no evidence that humans are in any danger from global warming. In fact, he says that todays temperature changes are just a blip on the radar according to the online site The Australian.
If you want to see rapid change, says Moore, look at the end of the glaciation period when the climate suddenly changed into this inter-glacial period were in now. For most of the history of modern life, it has been much warmer, he says.
In fact, as I have noted repeatedly in this column, Moore says that the true danger to man is if the planet enters a cooling phase.
Duh.
Life on earth is more adaptable to warmer climes than it is to colder climates. It is the end of the last Ice Age that gave rise to domination by modern humans, who presumably were smarter than Cro-Magnon man, but not as hardy or physically adaptable.
Moore who left Greenpeace in 1986 is in Australia giving a series of public presentations. Recently he condemned Greenpeace as an evil organization that has lost its concern for people.
'When we started Greenpeace it was to stop nuclear war and the destruction of human civilization, that of course is the peace in Greenpeace, explains Moore in the UKs Daily Mail. The green is the environment and that's good as well, but they lost the concerns for humans... They have turned, basically, into an evil organisation.
He claims that Greenpeace is more political than it is scientific.
Duh.
Making his point for him is the Green Amherst Project, an environmental group on Amherst College grounds that led a walkout during a recent presentation Moore gave to Amherst Republicans.
About 50 students and faculty walked out of the presentation about twenty minutes into it, leaving behind signs saying The Debate is Over, and Anthropogenic Climate Change is Real, according to the Amherst Student.
The Student says that Moore called the protesters the Taliban because they are intolerant of others points of view.
Duh.
Debating someone like Patrick Moore gives the impression that climate change activism and climate change denial stand on equal footing, Amherst student Ned Kleiner, the activist who led the protest, said. They do not. There is no scientific debate happening right now over the reality of anthropogenic climate change, and we refuse to give the impression that there is.
Note the irony: Klein says that his activism—that is politics, not science-- is better than Moores activism, well… just because it is. And as is plain right here, Moore, a Ph.D. in ecology—you know, a scientist—IS HAVING a debate about the reality of climate change.
Of course those on the Left continue to refuse to hear the arguments from the other side, and would rather stick fingers in their ears screaming na, na, na, na, na…I cant hear you, settled science, settled science than continue to engage in a debate that is increasingly clear they aren't winning.
Duh.
It’s a Marxist hoax and scam taught in our schools by Marxists but many of us always knew that.
Globull warming is nothing but an attempt at a power grab by the extreme left wing.
Even a blind squirrel can find a nut once in a while...
Ummmm, how many years did it take Dr. Moore to catch on to the hoax? Glad he 'gets it' but he's a tad late to the party.

Late? He arrived at least 28 years ago.
He claims that Greenpeace is more political than it is scientific.
You say 28 years? There are times I'm thrilled with being totally wrong. This is one of those times... Thanks Tex for the correction.
To call this a hoax is like calling Ft. Hood an unfortunate misunderstanding. This is a planned and executed attack.
“Life on earth is more adaptable to warmer climes than it is to colder climates”.
That quote is an easy and great truth to anyone who has looked at world maps and considered what parts of the world have the most people and the highest population densities. A big hint - its not at the poles or even within the arctic and antarctic circles, nor extreme northern Eurasia, nor extreme northern North America, nor extreme southern South America.
“You say 28 years? “
He broke his ties with Greenpeace in 1986.
Better late than never.
