Schodorf and Kobach Spar Over Voter Citizenship Law In Debate
KMUW ^ | Aileen LeBlanc

Posted on 10/22/2014 3:19:46 PM PDT by ObamahatesPACoal

The forum covered several issues several times as the SAFE (Secure and Fair Elections) law, sponsored by Kobach, was attacked and defended. The law, which requires proof of citizenship for new Kansas voters, has left 22,000 would be registrants -- not so.

"And now we have 22,000 people, who are citizens, in limbo. They don't have cell phones and smart phones," said Democrat Jean Schodorf

(SNIP)

Kobach said that his billing records show that he spent no more time per week on such activities than he would have on a round of golf.

Kris Kobach should be lauded for being the impetus behind a new and current law in Kansas requiring, among other things, voter ID and proof of US citizenship to register to vote.

Now he's being challenged by a Democrat who is maintaining her party's widespread opposition to both voter ID and proof of citizenship. Let's face it: the real reason for this almost universal Democrat opposition to these logical and reasonable measures all over the country is very simple. They counter, at least to some extent, the Democrat election cheating schemes, and so they hamper 'Rat efforts to steal elections by illegal means.

Anyone voting in Kansas should support Kobain for SOS if you want to maintain some semblance of election integrity! It's not too many states that are fortunate enough to have an SOS as concerned about honest election procedures as Mr. Kobain is.

BTW, Kobain also began an interstate cross-check voter registration system to hinder cheaters who vote in more than one state in the same election cycle. More than twenty states now participate in it.

Thanks for the ping justice. I voted today and Texas requires photo ID for this election. Lots of people voting early but Texas has a large Hispanic population so you never know...

I agree 100%. Kris Kobach is an American hero, and I hope that he goes on to serve in higher office.

BTW, you mistakenly wrote Kobain instead of Kobach a couple of times there. Kurt Cobain was the lead singer for Nirvana, and Kobane is that city in Northern Syria that ISIS is trying to take from the Kurds; not sure what Nirvana’s or the Islamic State’s position on voter-ID is. : )

Thanks. My apologies for getting the name wrong. Regrettably, Kris Kobach is not a “household name” yet across the country, since the MSM gives him virtually no attention.

Thanks for this ping. Voter fraud is out of control. The first time the Dems cheated on a large scale they almost certainly expected pushback. Instead the Republicans didn’t utter a peep. Since then the Dems have been cheating more and more and more. It’s gotten out of hand/become epidemic. Still the GOP ignores it. True the Vote does what it can but its resources are limited. We will never have a functioning country unless & until this mass scourge of voter fraud is rooted out, prosecuted and punished severely.

Hard to say historically when was the first time the Dems "cheated on a large scale." It was associated with big city machine politics (mostly Democrats) in the late 19th and early 20th century. But it was more geared then to local elections, where relatively few votes were more likely to be a determining factor because there were relatively fewer votes cast.

Then there was the infamous LBJ ballot box stuffing in the Texas Dem Senate primary race in 1948.

The first time it was widely mentioned in a presidential race was in connection with the Daley machine in Illinois in the Kennedy-Nixon election of 1960.

With the advent of the Clinton administration in 1993, there were several voting "reforms" introduced by federal legislation, such as Motor Voter. That period also saw the beginning of early voting in some states. Both of those aided and abetted cheating and fraud schemes.

In the wake of the disputed 2000 Bush-Gore election came the "Help America Vote Act." That was bipartisan, IIRC, but I don't know why the country needed any "help" from the federal government to vote at that time. I don't recall the specifics, but my gut feeling is that on balance it aided and abetted fraud and cheating as well.

Then in the last two decades, a few states have gone to such monstrosities as all-mail in ballots and same-day registration (most recently, Colorado), both of which compromise election integrity for convenience.

My guess is that in the Obama election "victory" in 2012, fraud and cheating targeted to the swing states might have determined the outcome. Then and since, Romney and his campaign never uttered a word about it, even with such obvious signs such as Romney getting ZERO votes in some precincts in Philadelphia and Cleveland.

Still the GOP ignores it.

I'd agree if you're talking about the Washington GOP establishment. The National Republican Committee, some say, is bound by some legal agreement it made in a 1980s civil suit where they supposedly agreed not to challenge election fraud and cheating, but I'm not sure of the details. "True the Vote" isn't the only organization out there trying to combat the cheating. There are a handful of other organizations, and there are a few lawyers and small legal firms who are into combatting election fraud and cheating as well. And of course, let's not forget Kris Kobach and a few other GOP Secretaries of State who have worked in the same direction.

Amen! And it can only be done with more media attention to the problem at some point.

FWIW, a few weeks ago I saw a Rasmussen poll indicating that 47% of Americans don't trust the integrity of American elections. That might sound like much, but I'd guess that if that same poll were done about thirty years ago, that number would be in the single digits!

We’ve had a lot of election fraud convictions in Michigan over the past few years. It started with the Oakland county democrats who ran the fake tea party scam that targeted the candidates for SOS and AG who went on to win.

These days we have democrats turning each other in for vote fraud.

Maybe in primaries, which I can see. But Democrats turning in each other for fraud in a general election? My guess is they're taking a big risk.

Well, if what you say is true, you're very fortunate in Michigan. Maybe because your SOS keeps things relatively on the level.

That is a very good summation. Like you, I couldn’t pinpoint exactly when Dems’ large scale cheating actually started. I think perhaps, though, Al Franken marked a turning point. The fraud there was so very obvious. They just kept finding ballots—at one point in the trunk of a car—until they had enough. During the actual theft of the election Republicans were eerily silent. After the Franken ‘victory’ was a done deal one or two made weak statements.

The lesson for the Dems was, ‘Hells bells—we can steal even major, crucial elections flagrantly, right out in the open & nothing happens. We get an additional, indispensable senator, & the GOP just looks weak and stupid’.

After that the spigot opened, and fraud poured out like a thousand broken water mains.
