(Reuters) - As fear of Ebola infections spreads to developed economies, U.S. and British insurance companies have begun writing Ebola exclusions into standard policies to cover hospitals, event organizers and other businesses vulnerable to local disruptions.
As a result, new policies and renewals will become costlier for companies opting to insure business travel to West Africa or to cover the risk of losses from quarantine shutdowns at home, industry officials told Reuters.

Another Øcare failing. Was supposed to cover more for less, covers less for more.
Thank you, -Resident O’Bola!
His legacy awaits him!
What a freakin’ disaster.
I WEEP FOR MY COUNTRY !!!
It’s an act of lord g*d Obola.
Take the pain pill. End of life expenses are draining.
Damn the insurance industry. Damn them all to hell.
lol!
Can’t get the pain pill, the Feds just tightened the laws on that while loosening them on street drugs.
If I were an insurance company I’d certainly want to exclude Ebola. But, being among the insured it sort of defeats the purpose, if a looming possibility of disease acquired through no fault of my own is no longer covered. What are people supposed to do if there’s another, broader outbreak and they aren’t covered? They’ll just have to go bankrupt I guess.
Lovely.
This is racist, they are discriminating against black diseases.
Take a fistful of birth control pills then and wait until the feeling of ebola passes.
A win-win for the left.
Depopulation for the environmental extremists.
More money for less medical care for the 0vomit insurance cronies.
A crisis to be exploited for the manipulators in the government.
LOL. I have a strong sense of gallows humor, comes in very handy these days.
... and a very practical reason to cease all outside activity other than absolute necessity if another outbreak occurs, because getting it would mean either death or bankruptcy. This will heighten the fear and do far more economic damage.
His population reduction in the works!
No surprise here - the last thing insurance companies want to do is to pay out on a policy. Their business is collecting premiums.
Do you know if it is health insurance or life insurance?
Sung to the tune of Ob La Di Ob La Da (Beatles)
Barry has a problem travelling every place
Michelle is the singer in his band
Barry says to Michelle girl I like your face
And Michelle says this when she will not touch his hand
Ob-a-ma E-bo-la where you been, O?
La-la, I want my life to go on
Ob-a-ma E-bo-la where you been, O?
La-la, I want my life to go on
Barry says dont worry, we can travel more
Hopes his party parrots everything
Tries to sell his BS when he speaks some more
And as he spreads the bull we all begin to sing
Ob-a-ma, E-bo-la, why no ban, O?
La-la, I want my life to go on
Ob-a-ma, E-bo-la, why no ban, O?
La-la, I want my life to go on
In a couple of years it could spread
to home sweet home
With a couple of kids buried in our yard
Thanks to Barry and Michelle O
(Ah ha ha ha ha ha)
Bans the travel after it spread every place
Now its passed from children by our hand (Arm! Leg!)
Michelle stays at home and does her pretty face
And in the evening she still sings it with the band
YES, Ob-a-ma E-bo-la where you been, O?
La-la, I want my life to go on
Ob-a-ma E-bo-la where you been, O?
La-la, I want my life to go on
YES, Ob-a-ma E-bo-la where you been, O?
La-la, I want my life to go on (ha ha ha)
Ob-a-ma E-bo-la where you been, O?
La-la, I want my life to go on
In a couple of years it could spread
to home sweet home
With a couple of kids buried in our yard
Thanks to Barry and Michelle O
(Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha)
Bans the travel after it spread every place
Now its passed from children by our hand (Foot!)
Michelle stays at home and does her pretty face
And in the evening she still sings it with the band
Yeah, Ob-a-ma E-bo-la where you been, O?
La-la, I want my life to go on (ha ha ha)
Yeah, Ob-a-ma E-bo-la where you been, O?
La-la, I want my life to go on
And if your life is done
Blame Ob-a-ma E-bo-la
[Thank you, uh, ha ha ha!]
Actually, the article says its for liability insurance, not everyone’s health insurance.
That sounds like how the music business works! Collects on behalf of recordings they protect and rarely pays out to the owners...
