My understanding comes from God, not from men who push doctrines du jour.
The study and research of scripture I have undertaken over the years does not jive with what you understand in terms of what this mark means.
Your so called "understanding" from "God" DOES NOT conform to scripture.
Words have meanings. You can't just make up new meanings to suit yourself and your ideology, unless of course you're a liberal or satan.
Look up the word in the greek, for yourself.
Revelation, true revelation, FROM GOD, will not contradict scripture.

What do all these victims share in common? Their ability to engage in commerce was brought to a screeching halt because they would not celebrate, endorse or promote homosexual behavior.

It is much simpler than people realize and is not about Christainity per se.
The mark of the beast is the character of the beast. The beast has tossed aside truth and replaced it with lies. Those who do the same have taken "the mark", a person's "name" being synonymous with his reputation, for good or evil. A person's willingness to accept lies reveals if they are so marked.
The beast system is plainly abusing, attacking, and punishing those who refuse to embrace its lies as truth.
The natural order created by God is what it is, and no government edict can make biological reality a mere opinion or lifestyle choice that can be rejected or redefined as people please. Yet that is exacly what this beast government demands... that we all swallow the lies and play make believe, in open rebellion to God Almighty.
In the name of civil and human rights, tolerance, diversity, dignity and liberty we are expected to put away truth and accept whatever heinous lies the government spews from day to day.
The persecution and financial destruction of the wedding planners, cake bakers and photographers is a huge red flag of where this is headed. The business owners may be Christians, but the fundamental conflict is that they refused to play the government's game of make believe. They refused to act as if the government's false definition of marriage were true.
By making homo *wedding* cakes, that's exactly what they would be forced to do with their hands (physical work) and their minds (playing pretend). They have been falsely accused of refusing to serve perverts, but none of the businesses were turning away folks who were just purchasing goods and services unrelated to celebrating unnatural acts.
The marriage and transgender depravities are the most obvious examples of forced compliance with delusion, but the list is pretty long. Government has place itself as the final authority of truth on any number of subjects, and we sure had better believe or we will be punished for wrong thinking about global warming, eco-wackoism, WOD, WOT, immigration, the Bill of Rights, dietary and health "guidelines" and so forth... IOW question or reject illegitimate authority of government to define truth and be prepared to suffer.
Long rant just to say that taking or refusing the mark boils down to a choice between bowing to beast.gov's lies, or sticking with the truth. People who are so brainwashed and morally bendable that they embrace all these lies, are increasingly accepting the lie that the problem is those who disagree. People who know and speak the truth are now considered "haters".
Technology (databases for everything) will be used ruthlessly as a weapon against the haters. It's not a tattoo that's the mark, it's the approval of the lies that have to be believed and used in order to conduct business, buy food, receive a paycheck, obtain healthcare, etc.
The grace period for choosing up sides with Truth is about up.

Agreed. They don’t want the cake. They want you to go against your moral conscience before GOD which would be sin. I agree with that but I don’t believe Christians magically get taken from earth 7 years before the destruction. I DO believe we are marked, just like in Ezekiel, God tells him to mark the foreheads of those that sigh and cry over the abominations, and they will be kept safe. I believe the same for us.
Also the children of Israel were protected from the plagues that God sent to the Egyptians and Pharoah; the children of Israel were not removed though.
We will be raptured but the word associated with meeting Jesus in the clouds is a greek word that means ‘as if meeting an official and returning with him’. There is no extended period of time where the earth is without believers.
I also agree we don’t know the facts and its because God has not prepared us to.
With that said, I believe the early rapture is pie in the sky and that we, as Christians, are scared of what’s coming (rightfully so) and its easy to believe we’ll be whisked away before the bad stuff happens.
It just isn’t so, IMVHO.
For example I believe Israel as a sovereign {as in being recognized as such by man} restoration as a nation is fulfilled prophecy that started a countdown clock of sorts or a point of no return in world events. The re-establishment came in a day by the stroke of a pen. Did those who wrote the Balfour Declaration and UN writs making this happen really understand the significance of their actions? Maybe a few did most likely didn't.
Marks bring up another issue as well. WW2 saw many persons being literally physically marked by Germany throughout Europe. My wife 30 years ago was a CNA in a nursing home. She had a patient whom the medical charts said was deaf/mute. The woman had a tattoo a series of numbers on her. She was likely Jewish possibly Russian or French.
My wife found out that she could hear well and speak well in Russian it sounded like. She couldn't speak English. She also still carried the trauma of the tattoo as my wife found out when she accidentally touched it and the woman freaked. Someone maybe her husband or her children got her out of Europe. No one knew her story. Her age in 1985 likely close to 90 would have made her an adult in Hitlers reign of terror.

Unbelievable. It’s sorrowful what has happened in this fallen, sinful world. I am ready for Christ’s return. I just know that he is giving us what we need to endure it and for that I’m grateful.
Karl....I think you’re misreading my posts. We’re in agreement (I think anyway). I believe we will be here, as believers. We are not going to be removed to protect us. I do believe that God will protect us here on earth just like the children of Israel during the plagues or during the time of Ezekiel.
