Atlantic City is obsolete. When every city in the Midwest has casinos nearby, there is no reason to take a whole day to travel to AC. It is a point destination that can't compete when there are a thousand points closer to everyone's home.

There used to be daily busloads from Cleveland running east to AC. Now we have our own casino, and those buses no longer run. Multiply by fifty cities east of the Mississippi. It's that simple.

One great thing is that even if you don't gamble, there are other things to do.

I was out there last month. Met up with my brother and s-i-l and went to the Barrett Jackson Auction. We didn't buy anything, but it was sure fun ta look!

We walked past about eleventy-seventeen thousand bajillion slot machines and didn't drop a single quarter. ;-)

Two couples I know had a long weekend in Vegas recently, spent plenty of money, but didn’t gamble. Yes, there are many fun things to do there.
