Kentucky's U.S. Senate race remains a dead heat two weeks before Election Day, with U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell regaining the slimmest of leads over Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes in a new Bluegrass Poll.

The poll of 655 likely voters found McConnell leading Grimes 44 percent to 43 percent. Libertarian David Patterson received 5 percent support, drawing voters from across the political spectrum. Eight percent were undecided.

This poll is always showing McConnell with less support than other polls - still, it shows definite negative momentum for Grimes vs. their previous poll.

What would be the benefit of giving an ultra-liberal a Senate seat, who will breath new life into the Lundergan establishment that we will be dealing with not for 6 years, but for decades to come?

The message from a loss would be that McConnell was too rigid / extreme and they need someone more willing to “reach across the isle.” My guess would be Lindsey Graham or Susan Collins.

Riight. If the spoiler were not on the ballot

But wait a minute. I thought Libertarians only get .0001% of the vote anyway?
