If youd like to be on or off this Outdoors/Rural/wildlife/hunting/hiking/backpacking/National Parks/animals list please FR mail me. And ping me is you see articles of interest.
Some years ago I went on a blackpowder hunt in a State park, also restricted to certain areas to allow access to campers and hikers. Took the deer a few hours to figure out where the safe humans were. This, of course, is a much larger area.

In Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado they shot the elk, stacked them up and burned them.

Elk is some mighty fine eating. A chef friend of mine once fixed me elk tenderloins with a blackberry sauce. Oh man, I almost married her after that meal!

The natural enemy of elk is wolves. Where are the wolves from Yellowstone?
