Two Christian ministers who own an Idaho wedding chapel were told they had to either perform same-sex weddings or face jail time and up to $1,000 in fines, according to a lawsuit filed Friday in federal court.

Alliance Defending Freedom is representing Donald and Evelyn Knapp, two ordained ministers who own the Hitching Post Wedding Chapel in Coeur d

The Hitching Post made it crystal clear that normal Christian weddings of one man + one woman is what they do. There is a news photo posted of these pastors standing outside with a sign to that effect.

This is the very reason the secular nazis have them in their cross-hairs.

I really think the conservative position should be to separate the legal contract from religious marriage altogether.

Actually, it's the liberal position "Separation of Church and State".

Throw it right back in their faces.

Puritans were dissenters from the Church of England

And now, "Puritans" are the Universalist Unitarians.

The Persecution of the Last Days has begun, and it will only get much, much worse.

I always thought as fracked up things are in the US with Obama, that Canada would always outdo America in destroying freedom, such as through our human rights tribunals; but as far as I know there hasn't been a case yet threatening pastors to betray their beliefs in this regard.

Wedding chapels have always been a cottage industry in Couer d’Alene. Last time I was there must have been half a dozen down toward the lake. It was one of the places in the Great NW that people ran away to to get married-—pretty much like Winnemucca, NV only with a lake. This chapel doesn’t stand alone and I expect the local folks will get it worked out. There’s been a lot of Kalifornicator in-migration in recent decades and I expect one of them will get schooled over this.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

You nailed it. Gays don’t really want to be married.
They are just agents of Satan trying to destroy the fabric of society and all things Christian.
Whatever we do we must fight back. Whatever it takes. I have volunteered to help assist in the legal defense of a couple of high profile pastors, and I aslo volunteered to go further should the system fail (which I fully expect it to).
I’m not going down without a fight.
And at the end of the day I think the idea of separating Biblical marriage from secular marriage (to an extent) may be the way to go.
I don’t want the courts to put a gay couple’s relationship on par with my marriage.
It demeans and diminishes the sanctity of the institution so as to render it meaningless.
Of course my wife and I reject the idea that marriage is what the government says it is.

It’s time for two men to ask a to be married in a mosque. Don’t even have to say you’re gay. Just that you want to get married. Any volunteers?

“This begs the question, if Mr. & Mrs. Knapp were Black ministers and they refused to marry klan members, White supremacists, etc., or if they were rabbis who refused to marry neo nazis or Holocaust deniers, would they still face prosecution? “

even though I like the idea of your question, I think their argument would be the groups you mention are not protected groups, notwithstanding the fact that in a country whose basic principles are all men a created equal, we have , by law, created groups that are unequal.

Agreed. I think though it would be better for you to SHOUT at the usurpers of our religious freedoms and not me.

Ps. I also think conservative and Orthodox Jews would have the same problem with being forced to marry sodomites. What’s next? Pedophiles marrying pre pubescent children or perhaps a man marrying his favorite sheep.

In a way, I’m using an Alinsky tactic, Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules. Even though, gay radicals, like leftist extremists in general are so devoid of standards they thrive on hypocrisy.

First Amendment issue. Citizens arrest of anybody trying to arrest the ministers.
