As you can imagine, I was alarmed, but not very surprised, when I received reports of rioting at the Pumpkin Festival in Keene, NH. The residents of Keene hold the Pumpkin Festival annually. Their mission is first and always to amass the most number of jack-o-lanterns in history. In 2013 they broke the previous record held by Boston when they brought together 30,581 jack-o-lanterns, according to accounts by the Keene Sentinel.
But into their 30,581 points of light this year was inserted sinister, dark forces. Forces that were nonsensical, dystopian and anarchical.
And those forces descended into the hallmark expression of Obamas America: the riot.
Its just like a rush. Youre revolting from the cops, Steven French, 18, told the Keene Sentinel Saturday night about his riotous living. Its a blast to do things that youre not supposed to do.
Steven likely doesnt understand what the constitution is all about, which guarantees his right to remain silent, which he apparently waived to get his 15 minutes of infamy.
In this-- as with the whole affair-- I blame Obama, who also doesnt seem to understand what the constitution is about.
I mean this is Obamas America, right? This is a place where people are unashamed of their infamy, as long as the Justice Department wont take action. Which of course they wont, and we should all be glad of it.
Because again: This is Obamas America.
A pumpkin patch, which is supposed to represent the bounty of America, is the proper place-- at least symbolically-- for the administration to take its final bows; its finial declaration of what they have accomplished in 6 years of war on the American bounty.
Disturbances continued early Sunday near Keene State College after an annual pumpkin festival a day earlier erupted into mayhem and led to arrests, injuries and police in riot gear using tear gas, reports Bostons WCVB. Keene State student Ellery Murray said she was at a party Saturday that had drawn a large crowd when people started throwing things. She said police responded in riot gear and used tear gas to break up the crowd.
Yes, for an administration that is mostly an historical reenactment of the darkest days of the anti-war protests circa 1970, I suppose that we should be grateful that this is Keene State, not Kent State.
At least no one was shot.
But that doesnt mean that Obama is not culpable here.
The president of the United States, as much as anything else, is responsible for the tone of the country. And the tone today isnt just deaf, its also dumb as wee see in Keene, NH.
And getting dumber by the day, as we see in Steven French, who will be eligible to vote now.
This is a country on edge, and it often doesnt even know what it is on edge about.
Its a country where the chattering class-- honest-to-goodness-- goes on MSNBC and blames peoples legitimate fears about an Ebola virus outbreak into a conversation about how racism is behind the fear, rather than government venality, corruption and stupidity.
Its a country that thinks the government is either so incompetent (in the view of Democrats) or so disloyal (in the view of Republicans) that even an outbreak of Ebola requires the head of the CDC to go before Congress and grovel.
Its a country where a jack-o-lantern festival takes a back seat to an administration that believes their mission is first and always to amass the most number of jackasses in history.
And heres why it matters: Republican Scott Brown is trailing slightly to Democrat Jeanne Shaheen, (Jackass), in the race for the United States Senate in New Hampshire. Up until now it was assumed that Brown would loose to Shaheen, although the race has been rated a toss up.
This riot is the product of the hope and change that Obama brought us: Anger for angers sake, destruction for destroyers and betrayal of all those things hopeless liberals say they are all about in exchange for power.
Im hoping that about 3 percent of New Hampshires voters agree.
Because that is all it will take to change the election into a wave for the GOP. That would be a great thing for Keene, NH to take from this year's festival.
Who knew this year's October Surprise would be a Great Pumpkin?

Your grammar is revolting. Don't you have schools in NH?
Its a blast to do things that youre not supposed to do.
Then you will REALLY enjoy the day you form a cogent thought.
The Sons of Obama.
Yeah. His white half.
Sending your students to most New Hampshire schools should be prosecutable as child abuse.
Forget grammar and spelling, save the spotted owl!
The riot was not at the festival itself, it was at some off campus housing hear the festival. The media completely got this one wrong.
As for the rioters, line them up in front of a firing squad.
Oh come on take it easy on him. He obviously hasn’t been taught by his teachers to use proper grammar.
And to think this is what you get after 12 years of government run education BEFORE Common Core kicks in.
“As for the rioters, line them up in front of a firing squad.”
No, start with public stocks, in the campus commons, all day on a Wednesday. Next infraction give twenty lashes each, same day at noon.
...a bunch of Justin Biebers dancing on that car, acting all Gansta!
It did say full retard, but that'd be redundant...
If you were at the festival in town, you literally knew nothing about the riot at Keene State.
The media wanted to gin this up and tried to link this with a truly fun family event. It was caused primarily by riff raff from out of town.
The same kind of thing happened at University of Connecticut a year or so ago. Out of town rabble showed up. Someone died over "Spring Weekend." The whole campus is now placed on lock down for that event.
I suspect Keene State will do the same thing from here on out at Pumpkin Fest.
FReegards!
This riot is a direct result of the power of the Internet. This party was posted on a couple websites. When I was in College(30 years ago) you invited people to a party at your house and 30 people you did not know would show up. Unfortunately, they were always dudes. Now, instead of 30 showing up, 1500 did.
Many people who were at the pumpkin festival in downtown Keene a mile or two away did not even know about the riot going on near Keene State College
Apparently these days “freedom” means to be able to do unto others w/o consequences. That is the mindset of a juvenile and a sociopath.
Now, the only evil is to hold perpetrators accountable.
"...Everybody knows you never go Full-Retard.
You went Full-Retard, man. Never go Full-Retard..."
~ Kirk Lazarus to Tugg Speedman in Tropic Thunder ~
These ridiculous "youths" never learned that lesson.
Permissiveness and utter willingness to look-the-other-way has created a childish group now in their teens to mid-30's.
It’s always that way, whether it’s rioters or looters. Take for instance Ferguson, MO. The looters were mostly if not all from out of town. Some even out of state, but you know riots and looting is big news with the lame stream media
I would not doubt that one bit
Heard on the 11PM news last night that the Prez (or a spokesman) for the college said ALL involved will be dealt with.
Those pictures look pretty clear, start by anyone ID’d in a picture is GONE...all Monies GONE...If you had to take out a loan to get here...tough nougies GONE...
Of course some lawyers will show up and say the ‘kids’ were caught up in the moment and led on by the older down staters and non townies.
Also a goodly portion of the parents will just say it is kids being kids.
Balderdash!!!!!
A choice is a choice. Be it good or bad. Pay for your ‘indiscretions’.
At the very least, those ID’d should be forced to pay for the damage and actually be forced to get out there and clean up their mess.
I realize that may not be feasible due to time restraints, so they should all be required to do Community Service, clean up the Parks, Public Areas etc for a year or so then MAYBE there will be no record.
Excellent points.
