Germany has blamed pro-Russian rebels for downing the Malaysia Airline MH17 plane with a rocket from a Buk missile defence system.

The BND foreign intelligence agency says separatists fired the device from a Ukrainian base which exploded directly next to the passenger aircraft.

It is the first time a European agency has openly pointed the finger at rebels, who have so far denied accusations.

A reasonable charge in my opinion. The theory promoting coordination with the Russian military still seems like a stretch to me.

The Ukrainian separatists did it, by mistake, more than likely using Russian weapons, commanded by a retired GRU colonel, Igor Strelkov (real name Igor Girkin).

You can find all sorts of cockamamie whack-job alternative false-flag theories.

This is impossible. Putin’s fan club tells us all the time how Putin is soooo STRONG, terrifyly so, yet not one to harm innocents. His KGB training, attainment of the rank of Colonel, and his father’s life too in the secret police in support of the Communists and their slave state, make Putin (President for Life) too sensitive to harm innocents. He cannot be both a terrorists and a good conservative, so they pschologically declare him a good conservative.

Note, This is the second report. The first Dutch report blamed "high speed projectiles" or something like that. This report blames those rascally rebels, whoever they are, without mentioning who controls them.

The final report is due out in the middle of next year, after the winter heating season. It will probably be more critical of one of the EU's closest trading partners but probably without assigning actual blame for the murder of 298 people where it rightly belongs.

I’ll bet they thought they were aiming at a plane they thought Putin was on as well.

The second report is entirely consistent with the first. It just goes into greater detail. It was a Buk. Buks destroy an airplane by exploding into a cloud of shrapnel next to the plane.

The Buk was almost certainly fired by the rebels. It's also quite likely it was a Russian Buk (although it could also have been a captured Ukrainian Buk). There were reports of a Buk battery missing one of its missiles crossing the border (back) into Russia.

The final report is due out in the middle of next year, after the winter heating season. It will probably be more critical of one of the EU's closest trading partners but probably without assigning actual blame for the murder of 298 people where it rightly belongs.

General Winter is assuming command.
