Ah, the joys of legalized pot.

The moral people of Colorado will be voting for the repeal of the constitutional amendment which legalized pot.

Not this election, but soon.

“there’s no way to tell the candy has been infused”

Sure there is, once little Dick and Jane start howling at the moon.

Wow. Thought the ebola hysteria was the dumbest thing I’d heard since Mikey got killed by Pop Rocks.

But this is even dumber.

Every year people hear warnings about tampered-with Halloween candy. And yet, isn’t this one of those things that is in the “urban legend” category? Have there ever actually been ANY cases of sabotaged candy in America?

We have an absolutely gigantic amount of candy distributed every year in America, in a gesture of generosity to children that happens at every income level in every community. And just about nobody gets poisoned.

There really is still a lot of goodness in America.

I did a quick search: ‘Halloween candy tampering, 2013’ and right away found an incident of a razor blade in an apple last year.

DING! DING! DING! We have a winner!

I mean, yeah. Really. Where's the common sense?

Next they'll be warning us that people are passing out tainted $100 bills.

Unfortunately it’s probably prudent to ask your kids/grandkids to dump their take on the kitchen table and then give it a going-over, pitching anything suspect and pocketing any Snickers or Three Musketeers chocolate bars.

Puhleese... This is like all of the idiocy of “razor blades in apples” (of which no actual occurrence has apparently ever been documented) and the [insert latest horrid substance people might ingest recreationally here] in pixie sticks” annual meme.

Probably bitter cops crying in their weekend beverages over not being able to confiscate insanely valuable property that touched a roach...

You mean the weekend beverage that fueled the Pumpkin Fest riot last week?

While you are inspecting the candy for marijuana, you might want to look for needles, razor blades, poisons, & drugs that can actually hurt you. Don’t let a wrapper make you feel safe. Drano or engine coolant can discreetly be injected into the candy & the hole in the wrapper can be hard to spot.

IMO, Trick or Treating has become too dangerous for kids. Beyond possible poisoning, kids running the streets at night is dangerous with all the knockout games, gangs, & perverts roaming the streets. For a pedophile, Halloween must be a “special” night.

Parents need to host Halloween parties for the kids where candy, food, & drink can be safely controlled.

Yes, we are all trained to look over the candy. I just suspect that the actual instances of tampered candy are very few.

Also, I like your suggestion about the Snickers and 3 Musketeers. Very prudent.
