Bush Didn’t Lie.So Why Did His Admin Sit on the Evidence of Saddam Hussein’s WMDs?
National Review ^ | October 18, 2014 | DeRoy Murdock

New media accounts — including coverage by NRO’s Patrick Brennan — confirm what I repeatedly have written since the depths of Operation Iraqi Freedom: The late dictator Saddam Hussein did have weapons of mass death, and the United States of America was correct to invade Iraq, find these toxins, and destroy them. Also vital: padlocking this Baathist general store for militant-Islamic terrorism.

As I explained on July 17, 2006:

While the liberal press gently sleeps, evidence continues to mount that Hussein had WMDs, though perhaps not in quantities that would bulge warehouses.

“Since 2003 Coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent,” states a June 21 declassified summary of a report from the National Ground Intelligence Center. “Despite many efforts to locate and destroy Iraq’s pre-Gulf War chemical munitions, filled and unfilled pre-Gulf War chemical munitions are assessed to still exist.

This has nothing do do with fault; it’s about defending oneself and one’s country. Nobody’s perfect but you can at least have the courage of your convictions and be willing to speak out for what you believe in, especially when you have the ability to influence and inspire people. Or do you disagree with that?

I'm sick of conservatives accepting the spin on this. It is and WAS the Democrats and the Democrat media who lied about this from the get go. The Bush admin said all along that the reason was WMD's. They got called liars. Does anyone think that ANYTHING would have been different if they had trotted out evidence day after day? No way. The press would have found any other reason to pile on and hate. Nothing would be different today.

Put the blame where blame lies. Squarely on the Democrats and the leftist media.

I can’t believe for a minute that Bush knew of soldiers being chemically burned and their not receiving medical treatment. Everyone can say what they will about GW, but he is dedicated to our fighting men and women. Over and over he has shown his soft spot in this regard.

Most likely, some Bush hater along the chain of command realized it didn’t fit the “Bush lied” narrative and covered it up. It breaks my heart that soldiers were denied due to a warped political agenda. That is the real scandal and continues to be. Benghazi et al...

Someone from the GOP should speak out. And preferably NOT McCain or Graham.
