The master document on the CDC website was changed today sometime between 1000 and 1500 hours.
The section titled "Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)" which until this morning specified "gown, gloves, mask, and face shield" has been deleted, and replaced with "PPE Recommendations are forthcoming"
When bureaucrats know half of them are losing their jobs, but before they know which half, they really start throwing poop like chimpanzees.
I imagine the lights are burning tonight at CDC, to facilitate the internecine warfare.
Dr. Frieden is not a Chicago Obama OG, so I imagine he will be out shortly. Replaced, almost certainly, by worse. The really tough thing about staffing public health leadership jobs is that 95% of the time you need Mr. Rogers and the other 5% you need Patton.
They must be stuck on the body suits. Everybody knows they are needed, but everybody also knows a BL-4 protocol means regional Ebola hospitals, which means retracting the CDC’s major premise since the summer - which means heads gonna roll.

The 1st responders here in Chicago are NOT happy. Rush is the Ebola hospital but they are not BL-4. Not good. I hope you are wrong bout $hit getting real. You are wrong every now and then, right?
When the premier Infection Prevention/Epidemiology organization on the third rock is so dysfunctional that they can retract PPE recommendations on a Saturday afternoon AND NOT HAVE NEW ONES READY TO GO, what would you call it?
A crisis? (and never let a good crisis go to waste)

Comeon man, everyone is paying attention to this page. I'm sure they know darned well the change will be noticed. I'm actually glad they are willing to update their guidelines when the old ones were shown to be insufficient.

i canot trust them. they are the ‘experts’ and they haven’t done common sense things like demand stopping bringing infected people back and closing the frickin borders. they had decades to get protocols correct, ebola has been known and how deadly it is since the mid-1970s.

best case they have forked us out of incredible negligence to what they already have known about ebola. we’ve weaponized stuff in the past, we know what bsl-4 is.
