The master document on the CDC website was changed today sometime between 1000 and 1500 hours.
The section titled "Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)" which until this morning specified "gown, gloves, mask, and face shield" has been deleted, and replaced with "PPE Recommendations are forthcoming"
My son works in an Emergency Room. The PPE protocols for the hospital were emailed to every employee. It stated that when taking off the PPE to take off the gloves first.
He is also a certified Haz Mat Tech as a firefighter and he knows that the very last thing to come off is the gloves. He replied to the email correcting them and has heard nothing yet. The charge nurse is still going by the protocol and told him he better follow it too.
He won’t, he knows better.
My question...how can this hospital’s protocol be so wrong and how many other hospitals are following this same protocol?

Sure they do. Everyone in the medical and science fields has known for decades -- they just don't want to admit it now because the required equipment is not feasible or affordable in an ordinary hospital. Level 4 biocontainment suit with powered, self-contained air supply inside a negative-pressure examination room. There's been no actual change in recommendation if you look at it honestly.
and you can decon and reuse class 1 suits.

It’s too preoccupied trying to manage public sentiment — because those in govt are more rational and knowledgeable than the rest of us.
I occasionally worked in one of those (self contained)on a chemical/liquified gas carrier. Belonged to the company and they probably would not have let me take it with me if I had asked. On the other hand I can make one if I really wanted to.
The Ebola situation is this. It is weaponized, airborne and of a size of .08 microns or smaller. This is a deliberate attack on the United States by clearly identifiable rouge individuals within the United States Government.
The objective is depopulation, economic collapse and the institution of a complete tyrannical system of control.

Since the Democrats’ policy is to accept and treat Ebola patients who flee to this country (even those who come for the express purpose of receiving treatment) you may have noticed that the CDC has pretty much dropped the “and Prevention” part of their name, (something like the `Affordable’ Care and Patient Privacy’ act, I suppose).
And prevention really is the most important part—as with car rental reservations, keeping the reservation is as important as taking it.
Back to the point: `What in the Sam Hill does the CDC do?!’
If you search, “What does the CDC do?” you should find that they counsel pregnant women against smoking while pregnant which they say could lead to birth defects (treated with `choice’ I suppose?) and they look into what makes old people fall down.
They don’t really do Ebola very well. The Ebola virus made its first appearance in 1976 so they have only had about 40 years to prepare ... we have to keep in mind that they are a federal agency.
(Their advice for now? Try not to get hysterical.)
Like a tool designed to do many things, the CDC too do just about everything health-related, particularly if the CDC can give a nanny lecture on the subject, and as long as it isn’t (clearing throat) above their pay grades.
They just don’t do any one thing very well, if by “very well” we agree that protecting the nation’s health means actually protecting Americans from viral illness and death.
But it should be some consolation for us to know, as/if we grow older, that they can give us some good advice on falling down.
As long as the Ebola virus isn’t involved.
N95 respirator or higher is for airborne precautions. Perhaps they will tell the whole truth after the election, but I doubt it.
The CDC recommends these respirators for flu virus.
Draw your own conclusions.
Regardless, our so-called president refuses to close our borders and refuses to halt incoming flights from West Africa.
Does he care about US citizens?
Does he have our best interests in mind?
No.
I will repeat that our military needs to arrest him for complete dereliction of duty and allowing harm to US citizens that could have been prevented.
On top of that, you have our children succumbing to EV 68, a polio-like illness brought in here from south of the border.
Children are DYING.

Most contaminated outer gloves come off first before touching other gear. The uncontaminated inner gloves come off last.
I would slap the charge nurse with the gloves as soon as I took them off.
It only took the infection of two (so far- that we know of) HCWs for them to pull their head out of their collective posterior.
In the meantime, be careful and use common sense and wash your hands, frequently.

One could take a wild guess and state the new dress code would match the NIH recent order for one years supply of PPE Personal Protective Equipment.
